This review is not about the accommodations, which frankly are very basic and overpriced. What Omega has to offer though, is an opportunity to bring meaning to one's life. It is a centre that attracts some of the leaders in the contemplative life in North America. If we are to transform our way of life to be more compassionate and... More

Omega has so much good going for it. First off, the fact that it exists is a gift. I am appreciative of a retreat center set in peaceful natural surroundings that's dedicated to bringing people together for positive transformation. The presenters Omega hosts on campus are simply top-notch. There are some fantastic amenities as well: a beautiful new center for... More

I attended a 3 day retreat for women's organizations at Omega this past week. I stayed in a cabin where two double rooms share a bath that is in between. These are VERY basic accommodations but clean and the twin bed was comfortable. Fortunately for my daughter and I, the people on the other side never showed so we didn't... More

Omega is a very restful place with a focus on spiritual and physical health. It has yoga, taichi, and meditation, and don't forget to get a massage. I stayed in a tent cabin which is a cheap way to stay, but I won't do that again--it's very dark when you have to make your way down to the bathroom at... More

I went my first time ever, solo, in June for some R&R. Lots of stuff going on at home & at work had me frazzled. The general atomosphere IS a little hippie-trippy, but welcoming. IMO, Omega is homier than Kripalu. At Omega, I relaxed, ate well, made friends w/o trying, found the staff helpful & friendly. The campus is lovely.... More

Went here for a 3 day seminar on Energy Medicine back in October for a weekend and was very disappointed having been a regular at Kripalu (similar concept but located in MA) for many years. The food variety was poor (think rabbit food), and getting to the location is somewhat difficult. Check in required a long line even though I... More

I've been to Omega myriad times over the past 25 years, and boy have they grown. Even their most basic dormitory accommodations are lovely, more than decent (it was a bit scarier 25 years ago). Their food is extremely healthy and delicious, all veggie, some vegan. Their coffee is fantastic, and plentiful. The dining hall overlooks a hill, and you... More

I go every year to Omega to feed my soul and connect with myself. I usually do a workshop. This time did Panache Desai and Colette Baron Reid. I love Omega and the cleansing of my mind it offers. I do think they could improve on room amenities and food options. People have lots of choices. The campus is stunning... More

THE OMEGA CLASS: Signed on for Lynda Barry's Writing the Unthinkable class (late July 2013), which was ten-force excellent. (See her book "What It Is" and her Near-Sighted Monkey tumblr feed for more.) I can't say enough good things about Barry, her teaching methods or this particular class, comprised of 70 bright lights, eager minds and outgoing personalities, some of... More
