We were visiting our daughter's momma and baby store in Rhinebeck-waddle n swaddle- and took a ten minute drive just to have lunch here. I believe it is open to the public. Very fresh food creatively prepared. As expected a casual 1960's environment with a zen vibe. We had a very delicious turkey bacon, avocado, lettuce and tomato on toast.... More

The Omega Institute in Rhinebeck, NY felt like a place of complete respite. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I was there attending a weekend workshop. The workshop itself was wonderful and a great experience. I arrived by bus, from NYC, and the process of checking-in was smooth and quick. Upon arrival, they have you fill-out a form for... More

Good programs but the whole retreat is old and somewhat rundown, both in terms of accomodations, amenities, and processes. They have pay phones! With the wellness movement in full bloom you would think Omega would modernize to create more compelling experiences for its guests beyond its core programming. It is certainly not cheap, and difficult to get to (I came... More

I went to Omega Institute over the 4th of July weekend to attend a workshop. It was my first time there, and it probably won't be my last. Omega was easy to get to--I took Amtrak from New York City to Rhinecliff, where the Omega shuttle picked me up. I had booked a single cabin, and was very pleased with... More

Omega Institute housing is for workshop participants. They offer cabins, dorms, and tents. I had a cabin. They are rustic. It's a 35 year old former Jewish boys camp converted into a retreat. Food is vegetarian. But good and plentiful.

Omega is like going to camp. So, one need not expect the physical structures to be beautiful. They are not. But, if you are going to Omega for the beauty, then you are going for the wrong reasons. This place is wonderfully located in the rural setting of New York; New York has some of the more luscious rural areas... More

Omega is a classic for upstate visitors, you can even go for the day. Its summer camp vibe and natural beauty are fit for the easy-going low maintenance wellness traveler. They offer varieties of workshops and trainings but also simple getaway retreats - sit by the lake and hang out. Chant weekends are a vibrant time to go and host... More

I had heard about the Omega Institute for over a decade, but never managed to find a workshop or training that fit my schedule. That finally happened this May. I camped for a week. The campgrounds are quiet (I was Lakeside), the bathroom aged and rather worn, with plenty of hot water. I peeked into a colleague's room and it... More

Please note that this is not a review of the property, but of the policies. I signed up for a workshop run by John Holland last September - an outside event, not run by Omega, but conducted in their Lakeside Theater. I booked accommodations at a local hotel, due to the negative reviews of the rooms at Omega on Tripadvisor,... More

We went to Omega for an Eckhart Tolle retreat. The grounds are beautiful and it was a special treat to be there with a wonderful spiritual teacher. This isn't someplace you go to be pampered. It’s a place to spread your spiritual wings, be present, and leave your ego at the door. Accommodations are comfy, but no frills. You can... More
