Stopped here last week via snowmobile...unfortunately the place was crowded with other riders. I was really annoyed that not I person from the business greeted us and made any attempt to make room for us(one table had helmets on it....put a shelf up already!!). Not going to rate the place because my buddy says the food is good..just wish that... More

We stopped in after a hike to nearby Ferd's Bog. The town has a quaint feel, having been the last stop on the old Raquette Lake Railroad, off the New York Central, and the port of call for ferry boats. This is mainly a beer-and-shot sort of place, but the woman bartending listened receptively as my daughter explained how to... More

The Tap Room is a true Adirondack experience. It is a small bar with a single beer (Yuengling) on tap (so the name is true!) and many other beers in bottle and the full range of mixed drinks. The food is surprisingly good and very reasonably priced. If you listen in on the conversation you will quickly know everything happening... More

My daughter and I ate at the Tap Room at about 1 in the afternoon, several at the bar and about half of the tables were full. Service was not the fastest but reasonable, it gave my daughter and I some time to sit and talk. We had a very nice meal and price was in line with what we... More

We went on the dinner cruise and this was pretty much the only place to stay. Super convenient because it is literally right there. Nothing fancy and no tv or wifi but it was a cute comfy room. It almost has a boarding house feel to it, with the common area. Surprisingly quiet for being above a bar. The bar... More

Keep in mind this review is for the Tap Room on a Saturday afternoon. A late lunch (1:30) on a Saturday. The place was definitely not mobbed. I should have known service might be slow when I heard the waitress tell a local guy who stopped in for lunch "remember, you only have an hour for lunch break". At the... More

If you're looking for a great place to stay for a few nights while visiting the Adirondacks, and you have a party spirit and are NOT looking for grand luxury, then book a room at the Tap Room ($40/night!) and enjoy Raquette Lake and the surrounding area. The rooms are totally utilitarian -- bed, bathroom (some are shared) and a... More

Yes, it's a bar, sharing a large building with a bakery, general store and some rooms for rent, right on the lake. It's accessible by boat or car. The Tap Room serves up sandwiches, salads and clams. There is some outdoor seating at some rustic picnic tables. We had kids with us, so I preferred the outdoor seating away from... More

Driving into Racquette Lake village we were apprehensive as I had booked a room at “The Tap Room” – the local pub, and my wife had some dodgy memories of another pub stay that I once booked so she was full of doubt about where she would be sleeping tonight! The tap Room was an unimposing two story brick building... More
