When we first arrived it was obvious this place was not an Inn but a motel. The doors are facing the street and did not look inviting. When we got the key to the room and went to the room the outside smelled like urine. When we opened the door the room also smelled like urine. We went back to... More

Worst place in Poughkeepsie. Checked in/dropped off luggage/went to an event. Came back after 11pm to find pounding bass music resonating through walls. Lot's of activity in parking lot...cars driving in and out fast/coming and going/taxi cabs pulling in & waiting. People walking around/shouting outside. Called desk offered to put in another room but it was a party throughout the... More

This hotel is ok but not for the price they charge! I deal with Orbitz where you pay at $10-$15 less than the hotel itself. There breakfast consists of orange juice coffee tea donuts bagels with cream cheese butter and jelly! The great thing is that you are surrounded by stores and restsurants. The rooms are alright and the channels work cause... More

I am going to start this off on a positive note. The gentileman at the front desk was very nice. The room was like a 60's time warp, the furniture was very dated and worn. The lamp on the night stand did not work (I moved the bulb to another lamp and it worked). The TV was the size of... More

We can now say we stayed in Poughkeepsie! T-Mobile has no service here however, free wifi is often possible outside the room standing in the parking lot. Apparently business travelers and parents dropping off their kid to college stay here.

The hotel is old and dated. But it was comfortable, in a good location and very reasonably priced. We enjoyed a visit to the Walkway over the Hudson, just a few minutes drive away. Breakfast was limited but adequate.

I'm no frills person so I'm ok with simple clean accommodations. But this place was the dirtiest poorly kept hotel I ever stayed in Pros: close to all shopping, 24 hour supermarket, gas station and restaurants. All in walking distance. Free parking. Decent breakfesr of bagels, coffee, muffins dounuts and tea. Free wifi. Nice staff Cons- chairs and mattress was... More

On a trip to Vassar College, I booked here due to its low prices. Upon arrival, the room smelled a little strange. When we returned late that night, the stench was horrendous! Here the toilet was missing a floor bolt and there was a thick, sloppy glob of caulk around the base. Water leaked out when flushed and the smell... More

We were fortunate to find this less expensive, but clean motel, after visiting various overpriced places closer to Hyde Park. It was located close enough to the three fine restaurants we chose each night and the owners were very cordial. Although only offering bagels and donuts for breakfast, the coffee was the best.

If you are looking for a high-end hotel with lots of amenities this is not the place. But .. if you need a lower cost alternative to crash for the night, the Poughkeepsie Inn is a good choice. Definitely no frills, but clean rooms, comfortable beds, free wireless access, and friendly folks at the front desk. They also accept pets... More
