I am going to start this off on a positive note. The gentileman at the front desk was very nice. The room was like a 60's time warp, the furniture was very dated and worn. The lamp on the night stand did not work (I moved the bulb to another lamp and it worked). The TV was the size of... More

We can now say we stayed in Poughkeepsie! T-Mobile has no service here however, free wifi is often possible outside the room standing in the parking lot. Apparently business travelers and parents dropping off their kid to college stay here.

The hotel is old and dated. But it was comfortable, in a good location and very reasonably priced. We enjoyed a visit to the Walkway over the Hudson, just a few minutes drive away. Breakfast was limited but adequate.

I'm no frills person so I'm ok with simple clean accommodations. But this place was the dirtiest poorly kept hotel I ever stayed in Pros: close to all shopping, 24 hour supermarket, gas station and restaurants. All in walking distance. Free parking. Decent breakfesr of bagels, coffee, muffins dounuts and tea. Free wifi. Nice staff Cons- chairs and mattress was... More

On a trip to Vassar College, I booked here due to its low prices. Upon arrival, the room smelled a little strange. When we returned late that night, the stench was horrendous! Here the toilet was missing a floor bolt and there was a thick, sloppy glob of caulk around the base. Water leaked out when flushed and the smell... More

We were fortunate to find this less expensive, but clean motel, after visiting various overpriced places closer to Hyde Park. It was located close enough to the three fine restaurants we chose each night and the owners were very cordial. Although only offering bagels and donuts for breakfast, the coffee was the best.

If you are looking for a high-end hotel with lots of amenities this is not the place. But .. if you need a lower cost alternative to crash for the night, the Poughkeepsie Inn is a good choice. Definitely no frills, but clean rooms, comfortable beds, free wireless access, and friendly folks at the front desk. They also accept pets... More

We (My wife, 3 yr old son and I.) needed a place to stay overnight after my daughter's wedding. I found the room to be comfortable and well laid out. Everything was clean and in good order. This is not a luxury hotel/motel and you aren't paying for that - clean and comfortable is what I paid for and clean... More

The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and the accommodations were solid. This is definitely the economical choice in Poughkeepsie, but you won't be disappointed. I heartily recommend the Inn to anyone who wants to come to Poughkeepsie and not spend 200 dollars/night on a room.
