I liked Erie Hotel. It was eerie, but in a good way. Like a ghost from the past. This railroad hotel looks much as it must have looked way back in the early 1900s when the Erie Railroad was still going strong. Port Jervis is a sleepy little town, but the Erie Hotel was lively enough. It's a pretty modest... More

The room is small, but for they money it's good. The bathroom has no amenities, but for the money, it's good enough. There is toilet paper, just no roll from which it should hang, but for the money, it's good. The street noise is constant. The red neon sign outside the window is reminiscent of "Hot L Baltimore." But for... More

During my stay I found this to be a well maintained/refurbished 1890 Railroad Hotel. It may be better known for the restaurant/ bar/ reception/ party facilities, but it is still an actual hotel providing clean, comfortable rooms. If you confuse this with the stylings of most "modern day" hotels, or are expecting the 'Ritz-Carlton', you may be disappointed. It is... More

We choose to spend an evening in this historical hotel based upon it's good reviews. We also ate a meal there. Our stay was during a recent trip back from Florida. The staff was friendly at check in. Actually checked in with the bartender. The room, number 5, was not bad until we looked in the bathroom. There had been a... More

Last month my family had ventured its way to a little city called Port Jervis. We needed a room and the Erie hotel and restaurant was our place. The moment we got there we felt relaxed. Rooms are nice and clean. The restaurant is one of the best I have ever been. I enjoyed the train track them and the... More

After driving great roads from Pennsylvania to get here, the Erie welcomed us with great clean rooms and and a great dinner. We sat in both sides and enjoyed the Tiki Bar. James was great, made us Eagles fans feel welcome. The owner even gave us a beer sign he had that was to be hung in the wall. The... More

If you're heading upstate and are looking for a great stopover, I urge you to check out the Erie Hotel. Right off of 84 just north of New Jersey and a Stones throw from Pennsylvania, this "Old Time" Hotel has a wonderful restaurant and reasonably priced accommodations. It's reminiscent of how folks traveled a hundred years ago. The restaurant has... More

Ate here for dinner (see my review) and then stayed in rooms on second floor just over street level. Unfortunately, the Saturday night bar scene kept us up until 4am with drunk 20 somethings spilling out onto the street below us. This looks like a popular venue for singles, old & young in the main bar or the Tiki bar... More

I'm not from Port Jervis, but drive through every year on our way to Glen Spey. What a great find. We usually don't take Jersey Avenue, but for some reason, this time our GPS took us that way. I'm so glad it did. The service was very good and friendly, the menu offered a variety of options, the prices are... More

Stayed in Port Jervis for their Cruzport night in August. I wanted something close and the Erie filled the bill. The Erie was a Victorian hotel. It has a resturant and bar down stairs with high ceilings. It has good food and a friendly atmosphere, it is also where you check in. You receive two keys, one to the front... More
