It's a tough thing to put my finger on, but The Colonial Inn has wiggled its way into my heart. I was first dragged there by significant other whom did a job near it, saw the 'buffet' sign and figured I'd like it. She was correct. Within 10 minutes I knew this place was special, and I didn't even get... More

I have stayed at the Colonial Inn twice, in two different rooms. Both times in dead of winter. You will either love this place or hate it. It is either quaint or decrepit. It is either quirky and historical or a disgusting firetrap. It all depends on you and your perspective. It is cheap and the owner, Steve, will change... More

The hotel is very interesting, I wouldn't even call it as a hotel its more like a big privat house with a very friendly house owner. You feeling yourself like you staying in a house of a friend. Also the hotel is full of interesting old things like a little museum with a privet collection of incredible things. We stayed... More

Everything you read on here is true. The place is falling apart. The rooms barely lock. But it is the homiest hotel I have ever stayed at. Very affordable, good food, excellent. Bartenders are nice, drinks are cheap-and top shelf. Pool table and juke box are free.

One of the most relaxing weekends I've ever had. Steve is a wonderful host. Two nice breakfasts and a dinner buffet on Saturday that was awesome. Fresh made regular guy food. Good stuff. Bar onsite with a great bartender. Lots of colorful people staying here.

I have been coming to Colonial Inn with my wife and two kids every year during Christmas weekend. It's has become our family tradition. The atmosphere is very laid back and cozy, it has a bar with a billiard table by the fireplace and a big TV screen surrounded by soft leather sofas. The owner, Steve, is an antique collector,... Been staying up at Steve's Colonial off and on for years and yeah, the good and the bad are all true. Bottom line, it's cheap and the food is good and sometimes you get a decent room. While many have come and gone in the lodging industry up Belleayre , the Colonial has been open for at least 30 years... More

I love the Colonial Inn. I love staying there and eating there. Their Sat, night buffet is wonderful home cooking and lots to chose from at very reasonable prices. The atmosphere is relaxing and laid back. Steve the own is very accommodating and friendly. One of my favorite places.

This is the worst place I have stayed in the Catskills. It is a decrepit mess that is falling apart from years of neglect. No hot water, shoddy showers, no locks on doors or lost keys, bathroom doors that wont close, no control over heat or cold, and a bar that randomly changes the cost of drinks from one day... More
