Went there for a weekend with friends. I'm new to camping and I must say the sites were very very close to each other. But all sites had a Firepit and picnic table. We were next to the creek and walked out on it. But the sites are so close you do hear everything. PROS. The male showers were nice... More

You should know what you're getting into: Black Bear Campground is not a traditional camping site, it's more of a place to drink and be merry in the woods. Each campsite is very close to its neighbors and there is no quiet hour -- if you are a light sleeper you should definitely bring ear plugs or headphones. The facilities... More

This isn't what I call camping; it's more like sleeping in a frat house parking lot. The entire campsite is quite small, about the size of a very large backyard. You're no more than 10 feet from other tents, and we could see street lights from the shopping strip just yards away through the trees; it's right in town, not... More

We stopped there with no reservations in the middle of July, and were surprised that about 2/3 of the sites were available. The owner told us that he was fully booked the next day, which was a Friday. We chose a site on the shore of Esopus Creek (mountain stream) which covered the ambiant noise of the town. This was... If camping with drunk, loud 20 year-olds is your thing, then this campsite is for you. The entire campgrounds stays loud until around 4 am, the campsites are very over crowded (the one next to us had 5 tents), and the grounds is a parking lot (each car is charged, cash only). The worst camping I have ever experienced!

Beautifully secluded camp site on the river. The camp grounds have three size. My friends did an "Extra Large" at site number 41. The site easily accommodated three tents, (two 15' by 10' and one smaller tent). Our group was 8 people which allowed us ample room for a cooking area and hang out area. Ours even backed up to...
