Our 4 day ride on the Erie Canal trail had us staying in 3 exceptional B&Bs. This was the 4th B&B and it was the second most expensive. The room was cramped and cluttered. Nothing was in great shape. The breakfast was odd and nothing to anticipate. It was epitomized by my request for butter for the pancakes. I was... More

Barbara seemed very nice on the phone when we called, ready and willing to accommodate, but could certainly talk your ear off. I asked if she had wifi while on the phone because this was a determining factor in our stay there, as I much work to do that evening. We arrived after a full day of driving at 9... More

Started off badly when my husband called for directions. Was asked, " why are you calling now, check in is 3-4 ?" Over bearing and intrusive hostess making five couples, who were biking the Erie Canalway, feel very uncomfortable by inserting herself physically and verbally into our space and conversations. Home is cluttered, stuffed, and difficult to maneuver. However, the... More

We stayed at this B&B for one night this past weekend. Our room was comfortable (bed was great!). There were chocolates left on our nightstand, which was a nice touch. Most importantly, the bedroom and bathroom were clean. Our breakfast consisted of fresh fruit and blueberry French toast. Delicious! Barbara and Robert were easy and accommodating hosts. I recommend this... More

We were especially impressed that with our 3 PM arrival on bikes, based on our interests, Barbara nonetheless quickly arranged for us to see two interesting local museums, despite the lateness of the hour. My wife liked the Coverlet Museum for the intricate weaving, such as what Barbara does for her guests in a smaller way. I especially enjoyed the... More

The host and hostess were incredibly accommodating and nice, Barbara even hand made a hot pad to use in our kitchen at home. She said she wanted to get in touch with the historical practices of the area so she bought a tradition loom on which to practice weaving. I loved it and was touched by her sincere kindness. This... The Canaltown B&B was a comfortable, hospitable place for my 5 days in Palmyra. One of a handful of lodgings in town, it's a 19th century home originally built as a Sunday School by the local Episcopal church. It is on SR 21 (Main St.) a few steps from the junction of SR 31, where that church and three others... More
