What a surprise to find this wonderful historic hotel. There was a small parking lot so parking is no worry. The room was spotless and very comfortable. My room had a microwave, refrigerator a small table to eat on and 2 beds. It was a corner room as I had the added bonus of 2 beautiful floor to ceiling windows.... More

This hotel was a treat from the moment we arrived. Beautifully decorated, ultra clean. Being that this was Harborfest weekend, there was occasional outside noise as revelers went home in the wee small hours but there were no guest noise issues. Eight of us [including 4 kids ages 8-16] stayed in rooms 12 & 15, which were nicely decorated and... More

No- this hotel is NOT haunted! Excellent rooms for Oswego. Each room is decorated differently so was fun checking out all the differences. Clean and worth the value. Fridge and microwaves in rooms are handy. Quiet hallways with no maids slamming doors, and who can also read the do not disturb signs (however seem to expect a tip- envelope left... More

I was visiting my son at SUNY. It got late and dark so I decided to spend the night in Oswego. I searched on Google and decided to stay at the Beacon hotel. I walked in at 11:45 pm without a reservation after having parked my car in the space provided by the hotel and was very warmly welcomed. The... More

We stayed for one night at the Beacon, on Saturday 24 May. It has pretty rooms in the old part of the building (the part they show in the photo, but which is not the entrance to the hotel), with comfortable beds and a decent shower. However, my room had a nasty smell that wouldn't go away and we couldn't... More

I was in town with my fiance and a few friends for a quick weekend trip to celebrate the retirement of one of my favorite professors. My fiance found the Beacon Hotel and booked the room and I was surprised to see that it is located literally right next to the apartment building I lived in during my senior year... More

I was a little hesitant to book any hotel during my trip to Oswego to visit SUNY Oswego. I did a little research and was satisfied with all the positive reviews for the Beacon Hotel. I am so happy I decided to stay there. It was a wonderful experiance! The staff was wonderfully attentive and welcoming. The room was spotless... More

We arrived late and just walked in to check on availability. The clerk was not bothered in the least. She was very helpful and fortunately had a room available. She even offered the AAA rate without us asking. She made a restaurant recommendation, The Red Sun Fire Roasting Company, that turned out to be fantastic. The room was quiet, clean... More

Visited my daughter's in laws in Oswego last summer. Hotel was clean, quiet and convenient. This is the nicest place to stay in town. The room was small, no closet, just a rack and shelf, but it had everything we needed for a one night stay. I would have requested a larger room had we planned on staying longer than... More

The Beacon is truly a hidden treasure. Julie and her staff do everything possible to ensure every guest is accommodated and has everything they need. The Beacon is, by far, the best hotel in the area. While it is not a franchise "looking", or cookie cutter, please know that it is refurbished, well appointed, extremely clean and adorable. The complimentary... More
