Stayed at the Alpine Inn while attending a wedding up the road. We were a little weary before we arrived due to reviews that we read on trip advisor. Upon our arrival we were very pleasantly surprised by how nice the Inn was. The rooms were immaculate and felt retro not dated. We had a king room with jacuzzi and... More

The positive aspects of The Alpine Inn: beautiful views, wonderful breakfast, free wi-fi. The negatives: When we checked in, we were told people were "spoiled" by expecting queen-size beds when the king sized were all gone. Our room smelled mildewy. The only amenity in the room was a hair-dryer. When my husband wanted a cup of coffee after the breakfast... More

This family run lodge does have its charm but it could also use quite a bit of updating. Wonderful views and grounds along with a reasonable breakfast. But the rooms have a very tired feeling about them and the response from the owners to questions, no less problems, can be uneven. Some of the family members are quite responsive and... More

Stayed at the Alpine Inn for 3 days with a friend to do some fishing in the area. From the moment we arrived until we left, our hosts could not do enough for us. We were greeted in a friendly warm manner, room was ready, and very clean. Breakfast and dinner were terrific. They accommodated our little tweaks to the... More

We attended a wedding at a resort a mile up the road and needed a place to stay because our family is too large for one hotel. I was very happy that we ended up at the Alpine instead of the other place! The view is spectacular and the grounds are very well maintained. It is a ski chalet with... More

This place had frienldy service and delicious breakfast. The decoration and equipment of the interior were from 80's, but working ok. The cabins had properly working wireless access, even the valley was out of cellular coverage!

I returned again for another weekend at the Alpine Inn and I have to be honest. I have been going back to this hotel for over 30 years. The rooms are like new. The grounds are manicures and they are always fixing things up. According to Eric and Edna, the owners, Maintenance on a hotel is a constanst process in... More

This is a very well maintained chalet / ski lodge inn, whose owners have managed the property for almost 50 years. They take great care in providing a quality stay. The lodge serves a large home-cooked breakfast. The room was clean and in good condition. The grounds are beautiful. There is a stream at the base of the property and... More

Having booked the 3 nights at Alpine Inn - sight unseen - except on the web, we were a little nervous! However, on arrival we were delighted to see the beautifully manicured rolling lawns, brilliant flowers, German-Austrian chalet style houses surrounded by the dense trees of the Catskill Mountains! The registration process was swift and directions to our rooms were... More

Once again the Family set off on destination wedding; the destination being Big Indian, in beautiful upstate New York about 30 miles west of Kingston, which believe it or not was once the capitol of New York! Upon arriving we were barely greeted by a not so cheery desk clerk who dashed our dreams of a cool dip in the... More
