Overall it was okay...room really need to be updated (Flat screen TV on the wall would be better than the TV that was there). One thing that I would like to suggest to Steve, if he would put some boot trays there to the snowmobiler's. Also would be nice if there were like 4 or 5 hooks on the wall... More

Hi dan p, Thanks for your thoughts on room upgrades. It's a little late for this season, but I will be looking into boot trays for next winter. Your thoughts about wall hooks is good. But I would be afraid of guests hanging wet towels, bathing suits on them and doing damage to the walls in the summer months. I'm... More

My son and I took our 1st snowmobiling trip to Old Forge NY. We stayed at Christy's and was extremely pleased. Home town Mom & Pop atmosphere at it's best, friendly and informative. Oh, the room was a bit too hot, needed to drop it down a few degrees (good problem to have).

Hi BruceW, Sounds like you and your son had a great first trip to the Old Forge area snowmobiling. Nothing better than a great day of riding and then returning to town for dinner at one of the area restaurants. Thanks for posting a review on tripadvisor. Steve More

Based upon what I had read on Trip Advisor, we chose Christy's Motel for our weekend get-a-way to Old Forge. Running the first "Let It Snow" 5K meant coming down to OF a day early (roughly a 3-hour drive for us from Plattsburgh). Making a phone reservation with the motel was easy and convenient. In addition to great reviews here... More

Hi Grousedoctor, Thanks for being part of the first Let it Snow 5K run here in Old Forge and for planning on returning. The event was a hugh success, because of people like yourself. Hope you had enough spare time to enjoy all the other things going on during Christmas on Main Street. Last, but not least, Thanks for the... More

My fiance and i stayed at chrissys over columbus day weekend. we enjoyed it very much. Its a great area close to shopping, dining, and it even has a gas station with a store right across the st.The price was good and it beat all the other motels around it.The room was well kept up, clean, well stocked up towels,... Regarding "Painful Beds," I just got back from four day stay at Christy's and I have nothing but great things to say about the place. It certainly wasn't a Marriot, and if that's what you were looking for, you should have stayed there. This is an old charm mom and pop motel. The rate was great and the room was... More

Hi Troutseeker, Thanks for sharing your daily fishing trips, to the different area lakes, with me. It's input like yours that helps me be able to pass information on to our guests. Just like I was able to help you when you first called. Hope to see you again this summer. Steve More

Our party had a very satisfactory experience at Christy's. The rooms well clean and in very good condition, and the staff was friendly and helpful. We didn't pay for a lot of amenities we don't need or want, just a decent place to stay for a very reasonable price.

My group from Buffalo stayed at Christy's while preparing for the Adirondack Classic 90-miler canoe race. None of us were familiar with Christy's. We found the motel online and booked four rooms, hoping the staff would be able to handle 14 paddlers and pit crew arriving at all different times of the day and night along with a 27-foot war... I read the review in regards to the quality of the beds and I have to agree. I have stayed at Christys before and I assumed that the beds had to have been replaced, my mistake. I believe these are the same beds I slept in six years ago. Even the box spring sagged. It was not a soft mattress... More

Hello Shannon264, The great thing about the country we live in and the internet, is we have the freedom to share our thoughts and opinions with others, as you did about the bedding here at Christy's. I do have to say that my opinion is a little different than yours. However, after reading your review, I have started an informal... More

Room looked very clean but early in the morning, when the sunlight streamed through the open door, dust motes filled the air top to bottom. My eyes had felt like they had sand in them and now I understand why. I don't think the carpets had been vacuumed for a long time. The linoleum in the bathroom looks filthy, but... More

Hi luv2travel48713, Let me assure you the carpet in your room and every room is vacuumed, the bathroom floor swept and wet mopped with an antibacterial cleaner before guests check in. Is it possible what you were seeing was coming from the outside? You stated the door was open and we are having one of the driest summers on record.... More

If your looking for the motel with lots of welcoming people and not a lot of frills, this is the place. Front desk people are extremely helpful. Place is clean but looks and feels kind of old. My biggest complaint is no dead bolt locks on the door. I'd stay here again.
