Love staying at the Forge Motel in Old Forge. The staff is very friendly. They have an indoor pool in the guest area. The rooms are fairly older, BUT they continue to keep the rooms clean and comfortable. I have been coming to Old Forge for over 50 years and the Forge has been a mainstay for folks year after... A group of fellow motorcyclists and I have stayed at The Forge Motel during late May or early June for the last ten years in a row. We always opt for the non-air-conditioned units that are closest to the water. (You rarely need the A/C this time of year in the Adirondacks.) Great view from the Adirondack chairs outside each... Hubby and I stayed here technically during the off season, the weekend before Memorial Day weekend during Old Forge's Paddlefest. Our stay at this hotel was excellent. First off, let me mention that the hotel is dated. It is obviously a throwback to the days gone by where the Adirondacks were THE place to be during the summer with your... More

Very basic but beautiful view and close to town deer walk right up to your room. Enjoyed the serenity of this motel. Friendly staff too would stay again and would recommend it to my friends. Short walk into town where all the activity is. Near the water slide park as well for families with children.

I did not select the hotel as I was part of a group. I was in town for a snowmobile trip. The room is very dated and bare of any essentials (No clock, coffee maker, & hair dryer). If the room does not matter to you, then this Motel is for you. Parking was a little hairy on the weekend.

Location is good in the center of town. You can walk to everything and view the lake from most rooms. Exterior looks deteriorated and is in need of updating. Continental breakfast is included but definitely not worth waiting for until 8am when they open. No coffee makers in the room. Rooms are pricey and bare bones basic with no decoration... More

We made a rather last-minute reservation for the very peak Fall colors weekend and they were most helpful in accommodating our very late arrival after their office had closed for the day. We had a comfortable two-night stay, enjoying the location looking out upon the lake. The place was reasonably quiet considering it's a good-size motel spread out in several... More

The rooms are dingy and dated. Beds and bedding are old and very uncomfortable. There are no amenities in the rooms other than a tv. No coffee maker, hair dryer, or ironing board. The room and bathroom smell of mildew. The maids do nothing more than make the beds. They don't restock anything like cups or shampoo. Worst of all,... More
