We stayed here for 3 nights in mid-June 2009 and it was a wonderful start to our 10 day trip around the Greek Islands. Aethrio is located in Oia which is at the top of the island and I think the best and most beautiful place to stay. The hotel was on the higher end of our price range but... more

I stayed in Aethrio with my boyfriend for 7 nights. The room was booked through Wotif website and was a real deal so we expected something very basic. But in Aethrio even basics are extremely high standard. We got a lovely tiny apartment with a kitchen anex and a separate livingroom. When we arrived to Aethrio we received the nicest... more

We spent 7 nights at this hotel. Our room was huge, clean, comfortable with a good bathroom and some great views. The hotel is superbly located in the centre of Oia so only minutes away from the numerous restaurants and bars in the town. Fabulous pool. Staff very friendly and helpful. more

I chose this hotel based on the Tripadvisor reviews. So many hotels in Santorini got scathing reviews, that I was a little put off, until I found that everyone had good things to say about Aethrio. AND it was affordable. I loved the hotel. If you're looking for something hanging off the side of the cliff, with a pool perched... more

We stayed here and loved it. I was worried based on some of the other reviews but I am happy we chose the Aethrio. Rooms were big, clean and nicely decorated in the simple Greek traditional style. Bathrooms were clean and simple - the shower is a typical Greek shower but everthing works well. Plenty of towels, shampoo and a... more

Our stay in Aethrio was super relaxing and had everything we could have asked for and more. The room we received was HUGE, full of character and had a proper bathroom with a proper shower! I am not sure what the other people have been complaining about but this place was a real find. Despite 35+ degree heat, the high... more

In general Santorini is very pretty but so overpriced. If you bear this in mind then you'll have a more enjoyable stay. First of all the positives: Great Location (but no view of the caldera) for the money. Very rustic, nice, spacious suites (no idea what the apartments were like). Great outdoor space in the suites. That''s really all I... more

Aethrio is traditionnal A' hotel, which can be compared to a 3 stars hotels. Most of these hotels have their breakfast from 08h00 to 10h00, very commun and frequent. Our breakfast is a continental breakfast, not an american or english breakfast. It means coffee, tea, bread, marmelade, juices. But we added additionals things : ham, cheese, cakes/greek brioche/croissant in alternance,...

When we first arrived the entrance to the hotel was a little dirty. (lot of rubish & plastic bottles on floor). Location was good though in the centre of Oia. However our room smelt very damp furniture very old and stained. smelly bathroom very old, towells that made cardboard look soft. I went out and brought bleach and air freshner!!.... more

Our chambermaids are cleaning all the room every day from 09h00 to 14h00. Before a last checking in the room, they put plastic bags and empty bootles belonging to our guests outside the room. 2 minutes after they take and put these rubish in an hidden place. Maybe this guest arrived at this moment, but of course our hotel is...

This hotel is nestled in quiet area but steps away from the bustle of the main streets. Our double bed room was spacious with a sofa and big closet/dresser. Bathroom was very clean and modern. The sunset view was fantastic at the rooftop terrace where you can see the sea on both sides of the island. The owner was friendly... more

Aethiro was the perfect place to stay in Oia. It had the best location, right in the middle of the town of Oia. When entering the gates, it felt like we were in a quaint tiny village. Alice, the owner was the most hospitable person. She was extremely helpful in every way. It ruly was a magical vacation! more
