I had reseacrhed the Sea Captain's house 8 months before travelling to Santorini, and after a few email exchanges with the hotel decided that it was slightly out of our price range. However, when we arrived to find that our apartment at the Nosros had been double booked, we called Tony at the Sea Captain's who offered us the Falling... More

After doing hours of research, I chose the Sea Captain's House for our family trip to Santorini. Hard when you're looking at photos and reading descriptions simply over the internet. But what a delight when we walked in to this gorgeous refurbished old cave house. The views overlooking the caldera and volcano were amazing! I knew breakfast was included in... More

This place is a great, relaxing way to experience Oia. Very upscale feeling, extremely comfortable bed (hard to leave it) and beautiful views from the roof deck. it is true that most reviews speak of the great views that the hotels have, but I think this one is the best. You have a true panoramic of the entire island and... More

My new wife and I were pleasantly surprised to arrive at the Sea Captain's House. The staff was very accomodating upon arrival throughout the entire stay. The SCH was perfectly centrally located in the town of Oia, the rooms were decorated beautifully and the private terrace had the most magnificent view of the volcano. We fell in love with out... We had originally planned on a holiday at the Sea Captain's House two years ago; but because of my husband's health issues; we were not able to go until this year. This is absolutely the very best place to stay ( for the price, amenities, location in the village itself--all things considered) in the village of Oia !! The central... More

I’m sure they hear this all the time, but I first heard of this property from the Giada in Paradise Santorini special on the Food Network in 2007. This is where she stayed while on the island, so I kept the name in my files. I knew I wanted to stay in Oia while in Santorini, but had several places... More

Oia is a ridiculously breathtaking village, and these guest houses are brilliant. We stayed in both the Captain's Room and the Venetian Room, and of course loved the Captain's incredible size (loft with double bed, single bed in rear and king bed in main room!) however the Venetian was perfectly charming and although significantly smaller, it had an even better... This was our second visit to Santorini and we wanted to stay in Oia for the views and the charming village atmosphere. I also didn't want to drive around much and the small foot paths are perfect in the Oia village. We knew we could go for a coffee with a view anytime and climb down the stairs to Ammoudi... More

Giada made a great TV show about Santorini and this is where she stayed. We love her shows. We actually stayed in the Sailing suite, the same room where she stayed with a great view to the caldera and volcano. The terrace is where we had our late breakfast every day. It overhangs the cliff with the sea and rest... More

We stayed in the Venetian room. The room and bathroom were compact but adorable and very clean. The highlight was the deck and jacuzzi to which our room gave us access. We felt like kings lying on our "private" deck every evening watching the crowds gather for the famous sunset of Oia. Priceless.
