This was the third time we stayed at here. Not because the rooms are state of the art, the perfect Internet connections or the nouvelle cuisine. But it's a very sympathetic place on a beautiful location, with excellent classical French food, like foie gras, riz de veau and rognons de veau and a amazing plateau de fromage. This cuisine is... Thank you for your pleasant message. I hope than, in your next stop, the wi-fi connection will be correct: I am looking again for an other solution More

Don't know about the competition, but l'Auberge du Val au Cesne comes up No. 1 under hotels in Yvetot, out of two. But why isn't is No. 1 under restaurants? I doubt the the burger joint which is at the top comes anywhere close to this imaginative cuisine, except perhaps in price. So, if you want to have a wonderful... More

We enjoyed the room situated at the bottom of the garden and being able to sit outside in the evening. The food was excellent and the breakfast included home made yoghurt and freshly squeezed orange juice. Wi Fi worked well for the Ipad but tended to keep dropping out with the lap top. The garden although nice was very weedy... More

This could have been so much better. The location is great, it looks nice, the food was good - but it just misses it. The room was large and florally decorated, however it was very dark and felt slightly damp. The bathroom just felt really old fashioned and there was no shower screen or holder for the shower itself. You... More

The snow drifts were above the car when we arrived at the auberge, but we were given a very warm welcome. The rooms are separate from the main building. Very old property, but our room was very warm, clean and spacious. Large well apppointed bathroom, separate loo. Lovely antique furnishings and clean comfortable bed. Gardens unique - lots of animals... More

Our room was small but comfortable and pretty (pink toile de Jouy wallpaper & curtains) although getting a little shabby now. It is also up some outside wooden stairs - tricky if you have much heavy baggage or are elderly - or it's raining) We disliked the caged birds and chickens all over the garden - a bit smelly and... At €90 per night for the room we were expecting a little better. A quaint room in a quaint building, away from the main property through a very pretty garden. Our room, room 3, was quite dusty and very dark. A separate toilet and bathroom were well appointed and clean. We had booked on a half board basis. We did... More

We stayed for one night to break a journey from Wales to the Lot, so I wanted somewhere quiet and relaxing and for one of our party on her first visit to France to get a favourable impression. It was difficult to find and took some time with Google maps to get an approximate location. It would be very helpful... More

We booked this hotel as a stopover, based on reviews that we had read, and were not disappointed. The hotel is full of character and we'd definitely return again. The auberge is in a lovely setting although alongside a minor road. Sitting out in the garden with a drink is wonderfully relaxing. Rooms are priced at 90 Euros which seemed... More

Everything suggested this would be a fabulous overnight - lush vegetation in a gorgeous garden filled with exotic birds; a separate five-bedroomed timbered structure in the garden; interesting menu; warm greeting and attentive staff. However.... incredibly hard to find (SatNav and map together no help) rooms turned out to be thin-walled and noisy, neighbours movements and voices apparent; traffic also... More
