7 nights were not enough in this exquisite & unusual B&B artistically created in & around the ruins of a 10th c fortress. Le Roc sur l'Orbieu offers comfort with modern facilities in a charming medieval setting. Our room Lo Tinalier was built into the remaining part of the remparts: a truly delightful experience to awaken each morning to expansive... More

Le Roc sur l'Orbieu is a unique B&B, situated in the ruins of a thousand year old château in a small village, extremely convenient for exploring the Languedoc region. The property has been beautifully renovated with antiques and period furniture, nevertheless, the bedrooms are extremely comfortable. Mme is warm and friendly, multilingual, charming and modest. The entire property is beautiful,... More

We loved our stay from the moment we arrived till the time we had to leave. The hostess was adorable, the cuisine sublime, the ambience timeless. Comfortable, spacious, airy bedroom was a dream! We are determined to return on our next journey to continue exploring the very beautiful area of France. We shall enjoy sitting at the table d'hotes, sharing... More

We really like the friendly and sharing ambiance with other guests! The only thing we tought could be better is the access of food, because we arived after dinner and it was... More

We spent four days in September at Le Roc. Our suite was romantic and sparkling clean. We particularly loved the embroidered antique linens, the eclectic furnishing of our suite and the public rooms, as well as the various small gardens and terraces with fabulous views. The breakfast was prepared with exceptional care and we enjoyed the best dinners at the... More

Not sure that we want to share this little gem with too many people but for Madame, la proprietaire I know these reviews help her business. Her family home is delightful and full of character. Whilst the rooms reflect the age and character of the place she has incorporated contemporary styling into her bedrooms and bathrooms which were very comfortable.... More

We loved our stay here exploring the Languedoc countryside. The chateau is a maze of small sitting areas for relaxing, and accommodation. Our rooms were very spacious, and comfortable with amazing views, like a little apartment with a separate bedroom upstairs for our teenaged son. Although the decor is rustic, the comfort was top notch, and I particularly appreciated the... More

This hotel is a gem - small, intimate, immaculate and steeped in good taste. The views from most rooms are wonderful, and in the hotel itself there are a myriad of small indoor and outdoor rooms to sit peacefully and enjoy the charming surroundings. A great deal of thought has gone into making guests comfortable and providing a setting in... More

Like most other reviewers we would like to express our gratitude to Madame Helene for one of the best holiday experiences we have ever had. Having heard the story of how she built up this wonderful hotel from scratch, starting 24 years ago, anyone who is fortunate enough to stay here will appreciate the amazing work she has put in... Firstly, a huge thanks to our hostess Mme Carreaud (Helene). She was lovely. This is a very intimate guest house really. Do not be put off. We had privacy and our 14 and 15 year old children were treated very well. It should be recognised that our girls are very grown up...but they have high expectations of accomodation. There were...
