My mother and I came to Beaucaire for a wedding and it was the perfect hotel. We were within a short walk of everything we wanted to see, including the Place du Château, markets, and Tarascon, across the river. In addition, our room had a mini-fridge and there was a drug store on the corner, so we were able to... More

Located in a good point for visiting Avignon area and Camargue, the hotel is an ancient monastry. The structure is very nice. The staff is very kind. The rooms should be renovated to be adapted to the hotel architecture.

For eccentricity and unpredictability, this is the place to stay. The hotel is a lovely historic building next to the pretty canal, with a beautiful vaulted stone reception area, a magnificent sweeping staircase, lovely dining facilities and pleasant enough rooms. The standard of the food at dinner was also excellent. But what an eccentric place - a stony faced manager... More

Arrived for prebooked overnight. The building looked tired, the courtyard scruffy and in need of a weed and tidy up. We were checked in by utterly charmless hotelier - clearly this was not a man happy in his work. A request for the wifi code was met with a furious glare. Our room was down a hot, stale smelling corridor along... More

This was a really mixed hotel - a lovely building with a very pretty reception and friendly staff. We did take the 'basic' room, and were amused at the out of date decor. There was no air-con though, and it was baking hot - there *was* a plug-in fan, which cooled us well enough. The fixing / positioning bolt on... More

Avoid this hotel, if you want to see Beaucaire, stay somewhere else, Yes it is an old building but we have stayed in many old buildings on this trip that were clean with lovely rooms, this is not one of those hotels. Our room was straight out of the seventies and not in a good way floor dirty and while... More

This hotel and restaurant has the potential to be absolutely fantastic, but disappointed us. In summary, the room was ordinary, with several minor but annoying problems, and whilst the restaurant had wonderful food, the menu was limited. First the hotel. This is a 350 year old building upgraded about 15 years ago to hotel. It started out life as a... More

I stayed here as a part of a cycling tour around Provence. The hotel is located in a old building that used to be a monastery. We had a marvelous dinner (included with the tour) at its restaurant which was full with people, not only guests of the hotel. The restaurant patio is very charming and well appointed. The room... Found this hotel with the help of the Michelin Red Guide. Stayed there Sept 23, 2005. Off a main street, near a canal. A little tricky driving to it, which seems often the case in older sections of interesting towns. Quiet at night, very nice room, bathroom had jacuzzi tub. Building has charm and historical significance. See photo of stair... More

The hotel restaurant Les Doctrinaires is a historical building situated in the very heart of Beaucaire old city center. Enjoy the view on the lovely canal of Beaucaire and its surroundings: Avignon, city of Popes, Arles and its Roman arenas, the Pont du Gard near Nimes (all of them are in the Unesco World Heritage list). We have a restaurant that offers great provence cuisine and a summer patio in a former chapel from the 17th century. ... more   less
