We stayed at this hotel for two nights. Being close to the convenience of Bastia and its airport. at the entrance of Cap Corse, beauty and wildness. Our room was located in the two story building behind the main building of the property. Charmingly decorated and properly cleaned. Quiet with a small terrace I liked the main swimming pool, small... more

This hotel is made up of 4 buildings in total - the historical main house and 3 modern buildings. We booked a superior room and were given a room upstairs in the building at the rear of the property. Not very easy lugging cases up there! The room had the tiniest balcony I've ever seen, which was slightly annoying as... more

Very nice welcome, incredible location and buildings, pool, very charming. Internet access in lobby, library with novel in several languages, caring staff... BIIIIIIIG breakfast, all nice. No restaurant though, my advice is "Le Pirate" (very upscale) and the new "L'Esquinade" in the village, with fresh product and fresh fish at affordable price every night, and a nice view from their... more

Our first taste of Corsica came via a 3 night stay @ this hotel. It is listed as Bastia the arrival port for the 5 hour ferry from Nice but is in fact 10 km north of the port which required a pricey 23 Euro taxi ride afetr arrivinng in pouring rain @ the port. Local bus service stops @... more

Spent a week at the Hotel Castel Brando at the end of August 2007. The main house was built in 1853 and has lots of olde-worlde character, with some newer (but tasteful) rooms built in the grounds. Two pools - our room looked over the smaller one, which hardly anyone used. It felt like our own private pool. Staff are... more

A beautiful 'boutique' hotel, with Michelin listing, in a small fishing village on the wonderful Cap Corse. They have 2 pools, large well equipped rooms with balconies and a lovely coservatory/al freso breakfast area. There is good private parking and the local area has at least 8 good restaurants. The family who run the hotel are charming. There is free... more

In July 2006 we stayed for 7 nights, loved the Hotel so much we returned this year for 10 nights and everything we remembered was just as good if not better than before. Again we stayed in a double room with a private terrace overlooking the smaller of the two pools. From the time we arrived to the time we... more

Very unpleasant experience, unfortunately. The main building is situated right above a very busy road, so impossible to sleep, plus the noise from a construction cite on the other side of the hotel. The stuff was extremely unhelpful, especially the director, who at first refused to change the room, then suggested a smaller room for the same high price, and finally... more

Management response from
Testamora, Direction

The day the client asked to be changed of room the hotel was fully booked. Another room (wich was smaller, I assume) has been proposed . When a stay is shorten at last minute, we have to charge the night. But a free cancellation is possible in serious cases (medical...)

We must compliment the management of this hotel. The place is just lovely, great location, lovely spotless accom., and the staff are most helpful and friendly. We enjoyed it so much we went back for an additional night at the end of our Corsica stay. It is excellent value for the money. Also, the little coastal village of Castel Brando... more

We are a Dutch couple and we are just back from a 1 night stay at Castel Brando, unfortunately we could't stay any longer because our boat was leaving the next day. It's a verry nice and charming hotel, we had a lovely room with a nice view. They are 2 swimmingpools, a big pool and one to relax without... more
