My wife and I booked one week in advance and expected a nice, secluded island close to paradise due to so many good critics. But what we experienced was quite different. Let's start with the nice points - lovely beach, comfortable accomodation, clear and warm water which invites for swimming and snorkling. The food was fresh and varied. Being close... more

Chapwani was the first stay of our Honeymoon and it was a perfect start. It was an excellent place to relax, unwind and watch the sun set. It does have what some may see as "limitations" - a salt water pool, limited electricity supply and fresh water piped across from the main island. However, this in no way detracted from... more

We stayed at Chapwani for 4 nights. The place is quiet and the staff is very nice however for 300 euros per day per room a lot could be improved: (1) the pool has green water (2) most of the days there wasn't enough running water in the bathrooms (3) no electricity at night and no light during the day.... more

Fantastic place! Great food, great accomodation, fantastic service on the island. Only 10-15 minutes far from Stone Town by boat. Extremely quiet if there is not a group of 10 Italiens people on the Island..., this is just like a piece of paradise, when you start walking around the island and discover many different species living on/around the island! I... more

2008 was quite an unpleasant year and reaching October we had no power left . So I startet searching for the ultimate place to relax , offering unspoiled nature , cristal - clear water at a sandy beach , only a few other people around , good food , a friendly service and perhaps the possibility for action the day... more

If you are thinking of going to Zanzibar then a short stay here is a must. My wife an I spent 8 weeks in Zanzibar for our wedding at the end of 2007 and of the 14 resorts that we stayed in this was by far the most charming and authentic. This was the first resort on the Island that... more

My wife and I stayed at Chapwani Island for four days during August 2008 in a Zanzibar trip. We really enjoyed the stay as the island is small, restricted to only ten guests at a time, and absolutely private. The bungalows are comfortable and the service is accurate and discreet. Also the food was top quality and the staff made... more

My family and I (Mum, Dad, 16 yr old daughter and 14 yr old son) stayed here for 5 days following a 10 day safari in northern Tanzania which we all enjoyed tremendously. Arriving at Zanzibar airport is a bit unsettling after 10 days on a well organised safari. Too many people hanging about the airport, grabbing your bags to... more

I did book through www.zanzibar-holiday.com and must thank them for the excellent assistance and precious details. The island is a real natural paradise. The food is excellent and we never had the same meal over 14 days of stay. Majority of grilled fish and sea-food, including delicious crabs and loabsters. I strongly recommend this hotel, it is a real jewel,... more

After a week of safari we were going to Zanzibar for a week of beach and relaxation. In addition we were arranging to get married while there. After cheking out some of the resorts on the east coast, we decided that Chapwani seemed less resort like, and their service and follow up after contacting them was really good. When arriving,... more
