We spent a lovely 24 hours on Chumbe Island. The bungalows are wonderfully designed, with a lovely swing on the main floor, full bathroom, lots of room upstairs with a reading light and fans. The side of the roof lowers to let in more air and lets you look out over the garden and ocean. The food is fresh and... More

This island is among the most beautiful places we’ve visited. The stay here was lovely all the way through. Super romantic, calm, everyone so friendly. Most people seem to come for the day, but staying 1-2 nights is definitely worth it. We practically had the island to ourselves when here! The boatride out was a bit tricky since you have... More

It turns out if the resort is not fully booked that you can book a day tour of this amazing island. That’s what we did. It cost about $100.00 and included delicious lunch,a guide forest tour, a trip up the lighthouse and best of all the most memorable snorkeling opportunity ever! The marine area is protected and access is limited... More

This island is a must see if you happen to be on Sansibar. It's a fantastic experience supported by a fantastic staff. We got the chance to stay overnight and would do so again if possible. Comparing to the experience we already gathered during the day the additional dinner under the night sky and the night "in the jungle" created... More

Chumbe Island is absolutely worth a visit. Chumbe/ the coral park is a "restricted area" they can only take 15 visitors each day, and you can not visit the island without a booking. It´s possible to go for a daytrip, but only if the bungalows is not fully booked for overnight stays. It´s expensive: USD 90 for adults and USD... More

Chumbe island was the highlight of our trip to Zanzibar, the trip started with snorkelling on the protected reef, my partner isn't a strong swimmer and was a little concerned about doing this but the instructor J2 was amazing, he looked after him made him feel safe and he thoroughly enjoyed this experience, for which we can't thank him enough.... A Truls unique place. Barefoot luxury with fantastic snorkeling possibilities. Chumbe is a Marine Protection Area with a 7 bungalow resort facility. We spent two nights and wished we could have støyer longer. It is the deserted island you don't want to be rescued from.

Stayed here for a night at the end of January to celebrate my 30th birthday - and we couldn't have chosen a better place. The island itself is beautiful - I couldn't get over the view from the top of the lighthouse. Incredible colours of the island and the surrounding waters - absolute paradise. The staff were so incredibly friendly... More

I went on a day trip to Chumbe Island and enjoyed it. so much! It was like mini-vacation from my vacation in Paje, Zanzibar. The staff was friendly and welcoming and J2 was the perfect guide, borh in water and on land. The lunch was amazing, the chocolate cake for dessert was probably the best chocolate cake I've ever taste:)... More

Jorge and Margarita from Spain: Once back at home, are living the great memories of our stay at Chumbe Island. We went to find just what nature has to offer on this island and we have brought with us in the form of photos, videos and feelings ... both on land and at sea. The coral reef is in very... More
