We visited the island only for the day. Highly recommend it though. The accomodations are a little too Robinson Crusoe for my wife but I think I could have gotten use to it pretty quick. They let us park our stuff and shower in one of the empty villas. We had lunch there and it was quite tasty. The snorkeling... More

This is without doubt one of the most wonderful places we have visited in a long time. Not because of the jacuzzi, the walk-in closet or the michelin star restaurant. It does not offer all that. It's the overall experience of visiting a Robinson Crusoe type of island and by paying a considerable amount of money per night contributing to... More

Chumbe makes a great day trip from Zanzibar to enjoy the beach, snorkeling and relaxing. You can also stay overnight in the simple bandas. Only 14 people are allowed on the island at one time, which gives the place a desert island feeling. We had a tour of the island, a delicious lunch and an hour of snorkeling. The staff... More

All in all I can highly recommend a overnight-stay on Chumbe Isalnd but it has it's challanges. If you look for privacy and/or luxury it is not the best place to be. The bandas are very simple and the lounge area (ground floor) has more or less no privacy at all which is uncomfortable when you step out from the... More

Chumbe is fabulous. There is nothing to do but enjoy, swim, read, and fabulous food. The staff were incredible, knowledgable and very friendly and helpful. Definately stay for 2 nights so that you can appreciate relaxing at all the fabulous little spots set up around the island. This is not for night life seekers at all. Walk around the island... More

Visit Chumbe if you are a nature lover and seek seclusion, excellent food and service and a perfect coral reef for snorkeling. The eco bungalows are comfortable and really worth the experience. The only downside during out stay was the staff party which kept all the guests awake during the night which is unacceptable.

Dear Nicholas B, We thank you for your review and we are very pleased to hear that you enjoyed the snorkeling, bungalows, food and service during your stay. With regards to the "staff party"- I would like to apologize for the inconvenience caused by the music and noise at night but this in fact was not from the staff or... More

Chumbe is really what I define as paradise. A small island with environmental friendly wonderful bungalows, excellent food, excellent activities.. The coral reef was pristine and we saw Hawksbill turtles, stingrays and an unidentifiable number of fish! No words will ever do this place justice, but I guarantee that you will NOT regret yourselves if you decide to go here!

We were lucky to have a chance to visit the Chumbe Island Coral Park taking a daytrip to there since they only allow the day trip guests only if not all the bungalows are booked and the island is not so crowded due to overnight staying visitors. We wanted to book the tour 2-3 weeks in advance but was told... More

I was thrilled about going to Chumbe Island and it didn't disappoint one bit. We opted for a day tour (and while this is a bit pricey compared to other options, its worth it all). This was by far one of my best experiences in Zanzibar!! I'm only upset about not being able to return. The tour starts with an... More
