Chumbe is really what I define as paradise. A small island with environmental friendly wonderful bungalows, excellent food, excellent activities.. The coral reef was pristine and we saw Hawksbill turtles, stingrays and an unidentifiable number of fish! No words will ever do this place justice, but I guarantee that you will NOT regret yourselves if you decide to go here!

We were lucky to have a chance to visit the Chumbe Island Coral Park taking a daytrip to there since they only allow the day trip guests only if not all the bungalows are booked and the island is not so crowded due to overnight staying visitors. We wanted to book the tour 2-3 weeks in advance but was told... More

I was thrilled about going to Chumbe Island and it didn't disappoint one bit. We opted for a day tour (and while this is a bit pricey compared to other options, its worth it all). This was by far one of my best experiences in Zanzibar!! I'm only upset about not being able to return. The tour starts with an... More

We absolutely loved this place. Really felt that we had escaped from every day life. We found that the accommodation was surprisingly comfortable given the eco credentials. Be aware that you won't have a flushing loo (spade of compost down the toilet pan) or air con, but we honestly found the breeze from the sea through the open "window" kept... More

I travelled alone to Chumbe however not once did I feel alone. Chumbe is such a beautiful Island, and the team have set it up so there are little secret spots all over the South of the Island where you and just sit and watch the beautiful views! Chumbe consists of only 7 bungalows so be prepared to feel like... More

We stayed one night on Chumbe as part of our 5th wedding anniversary trip to Zanzibar. If you'd like to get away from the tourists and have the island almost to yourself, an overnight is highly recommended (despite the hefty sum you'll have to shell out). The handsome eco-bungalows are comfortable, tastefully appointed, and private. Right nearby one can go... More

We visited Chumbe as a day trip from Stone Town. It is absolutely beautiful. There is a very warm welcome from the staff on arrival and you are shown to your banda, which we definitely weren't expecting for a day trip! We went on the forest walk which was very interesting and saw a few of the island creatures and... More

We stayed on Chumbe Island for 2 nights and really enjoyed our stay. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. When we arrived we didn't feel like going on the forest walk right away so one of the rangers took us later in the day and one morning they took us and another couple for an extra snorkel while we... Totally lived up to expectations. We stayed a night, would have liked to stay 2 but wasn't in our budget. Snorkelling was good (bit choppy when we were there so not the best snorkelling I've done and the only we did in Zanzibar so can't compare to other places), saw sharks from the restaurant and beach but not from the...
