We stayed at the island one night but from the very moment we arrived we discovered how amazing this place is, a so tiny island but full of life and beauty, the service is excellent, the food is absolutely delicious. Perfect place to relax and also to be in contact with nature. All the operation there is truly Eco Friendly.... More

Hard to choose whether to start with the property or the people. Chumbe Island is a must for anyone who appreciates eco-preservation presented simply and elegantly. This property exemplifies - no sets the bar - for attention to detail. The goal is 100% comfort with 0% footprint and it is so well done. Drop the pack of urban everything and... More

Chumbe Island Lodge fully lives up to its 5 star reputation. The island is beautiful and the bungalows give that Robinson Crusoe experience, bringing you closer to nature. The staff are a real delight, the (optional) activities are well organised and the food is amazing. There was also a fantastic selection of books to look at. I particularly liked the... More

This place is absolute amazing. The staff was wonderful, knowledgeable about the island regarding plants, wildlife and history and went the extra mile to make sure you were enjoying yourself. One of the things I did not know about the island is that it is a conservation area. No one lives on the island and everything they do goes to... More

The highlight of our 15 days in Tanzania. Snorkelling over amazing forests of hard corals and myriad tropical fish, a beautiful Zanzibari lunch, and a beach that is as close to perfection as there is. We only did the day trip for US$90 each, but wanted to stay once we got there. If you go to Zanzibar and you like... More

What a wonderful time we had. Island is fantastic. We stayed for one night. I would recommend paying the extra to for the day afterwards as well. Accommodation is brilliant, food is phenomenal, the guys looking after you are brilliant and the island itself is an absolute must see. Make sure you do the inter-tidal walk, even if it's not... Having researched the best places to snorkel around Zanzibar, my wife and I stayed on Chumbe Island for two nights. The experience was unforgettable as everything about the hotel and Island was just brilliant. The staff were absolutely great and the food was amazing. We loved it so much we bought a cook book written by the head chef. The... More

After having done a quite stressful safari in Tansania, we reached Chumbe Island for a 5-night-stay and felt at home instantly. The bungalow was very comfortable, clean and private, the food delicious and the whole staff more than obliging and nice! The atmosphere of the island is peaceful and relaxing. Snorkeling was also just overwhelming. We loved never been forced... More

When filling in the feedback form upon check out, none of the 4 of us could think of anything bad to say, or even any comment to help improve the stay at Chumbe island. I am tempted to say it is the kind of place you want to keep secret and untouched, but it already has incredible reviews from hundreds... More
