Sagando Hostel is the Place to Chill Out. The rastafari atmosphere asks for it as well as the 5min walking distance paradise, peaceful beach!! As soon as you get there the time stars running in a very slow way. If you need to rest this is the place, but when you are starving and need to wait 3 hours for... More

I wish I'd had a better experience at this place as it's very chilled and in a great underdeveloped but of zanzibar with a quiet beach. The upper rooms are clean and well sized - only two have hot water and the family cabin Is very damp with mice. There's a bonfire every night and chilled staff most of the... More

I arrived with a couple of friends but had to take a risk as I hadn't booked, luckily they had a room available for a really good price. The greeting was brilliant, warm and friendly (search my YouTube video) and nothing was too much trouble, we'd had a really long journey and couldn't wait to finally relax . The room... More

Four of us spent 2 nights in Sagando as part of a week in zanzibar. Our host in stone town was friends with the Sagando hostel guys and brought us there. Michamvi is a very very underdeveloped area in Zanzibar, with an influx of hotels along the beach in various stages of construction. It was the end of the low... More

I stayed a couple of nights at Sagando recently (the end of low season). The guys running the place are really nice and relaxed. They went above and beyond to help another guest who was not feeling well and were always doing nice little things to make me more comfortable (finding my favorite foods for dinner and breakfast without even... I had originally planned on staying 3 nights but switched it to only 2. I am a backpacker so in no way did I expect luxury. The place was absolutely beautiful, the yard was kept up nicely and the staff was very very welcoming. The fruit juice, lobster, prawns and seasoned chicken were all fantastic. Our bungalow looked great and... More

We stayed at Sagando on a whim after riding a dalla dalla to Michamvi. We told the driver to recommend a place and he dropped us there. It's a small place with half a dozen bungalows, five minutes walk back from the beach. Despite the staff being extremely laid back the place is really well maintained. There was one other... More

The bungalows are simple, clean and nice. Very close to a beautiful white sand beach (1min walking). The people working there are very cool and nice. The food was tasty. Bungalows are very cheap and the quality was good, i wouldnt expect it to be that good! I will go back there for sure!

I stayed here during X-Mas holidays and had a great time. The room was very nice with a beautiful good working bathroom. Service was the best! Akida was always there to help and gave great service. WiFi was always working during my stay and the food was good. I couldn't have had a better place, special for this price.

We stayed for 9 nights in this pleasant place. The room was god value and spacious considering how much other places were charging. Its a short walk to the beach and the resort next door will allow you to use their facilities including swimming pool, beach equipment, internet and restaurantfor a 10 dollar pass which is redeemable on food and...
