This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel overlooking the Saloum delta. I arrived with my two friends and a Gambian guide at noon. A perfect 3 course meal was laid on. Birding in the woods around the huts and the outer edge of the hotel was perfect. Take an evening trip up river if you like... More

In my extensive travels in Senegal, I've been to this hotel many, many times because it is just perfectly situated on the mangroves of the Saloum delta. Perched above, the hotel has a great view from the dining room that is just gorgeous and breakfast and cocktail hour. The tiny private pier goes out onto the river and is a... More

I stayed one night in a circular hut with a comfortable bed and a shower otherwise it was a little basic as one would expect in certain African countries. The staff spoke French but understood English and on the whole were helpful. The continental breakfast was small, The dinner was a set menu but very good. The restaurant was large... More

The hotel was in a beautiful position situated on a high bank overlooking one of the rivers of the delta and the mangroves. The restaurant and bar area are tastefuly decorated and surrounded by colourful trees and bushes. Continental breakfast was fine and you could have extra choices (at a charge). The set lunch and dinner had no choice but... More

I stayed for 4 nights at Keur Saloum with 20 high school seniors on a field trip out from our school in Dakar. The rooms, food and service were excellent. The hosts were friendly and helpful. The excursions with guides were pricey though and not always what we expected, though not bad. The students rode bikes, went on hikes, swam... More

I arrived at Keur Saloum by water and at first glance thought I had ventured into the Magic Kingdom, with its bright pink facade and billowing thatch roof. Then I trudged along the pier with my luggage (no one made a move to assist) and I found myself in tourist hell - a group of 30 or so Americans all... More

Stayed here twice while birding in Senegal and The Gambia. Nice room with good shower and, most importantly, a good bed. Food was excellent. Best we had on trip. Almost all of their clients are French, and the staff spoke very little English although we still could make ourselves understood. Beautiful view of the Senegal River. Grounds full of bougainvillia.... More

If you're looking for peace and tranquillity, well off the beaten track this is definitely the place to head for. The hotel grounds are beautiful with amazing views across the delta and the mangroves. The rooms are clean and comfortable and, as has been previously mentioned, it is well worth paying the extra to stay in the suites, wonderful space... More

The hotel grounds are beautiful, with huts sprinkled throughout. The accommodations inside the hut were quaint but comfortable; nothing fancy. The restaurant and pool area are lovely and inviting, as is the lounge area near the pier. There is a small marketplace on the grounds if you're looking for souvenirs. The hotel is a great spot if you're looking to... More

The hotel is well situated with nice views across the delta and pleasant gardens, which host a number of interesting birds. The hotel seems to specialize in fishing trips. The rooms were clean and comfortable. All of the facilities, shower, lavatories, air con and wifi in reception/bar area worked well. After 4 days of staying in very basic accommodation in... More
