We stayed in Sarova Taita Hills Game Lodge as part of a tour operator safari to Kenya and Tanzania. It was an excellent hotel, with amazing views over the surrounding hills, nice rooms, very pleasant food with lots of choices, very friendly staff (who gave us a very warm welcome!). Overall this hotel was excellent and we'd thoroughly recommend it.

I have stayed at the this hotel over 10 yrs ago, when it was the Hilton . This time we had lunch here and then stayed at salt lick . The food was great, the only disappointment was that they don't do the hot air balloons from here anymore ( really really want to do that). Staff friendly, thank you

This hotel is nestled nicely at the outskirts of the Taita Hills sanctuary. It is an old facility and while there is a certain charm with the hotel and particularly the lobby area with its huge rock fireplace, the rooms are a bit tired and could use an upgrade, particularly the bathrooms. The game viewing was pretty poor when I... More

I was at the lodge from 15th february 2014 at 1pm and left the following morning. The rooms were okay but no phone(i was in room 112) so we had to go downstairs if we needed something. Also the pool had not been cleaned and the food was not the best both for dinner and breakfast, not enough variety. However,... More

We stayed here on night three of the Pollmans Ndogo Safari. The rooms were spotlessly clean, and the hotel offered a turn down service on an evening so when we returned to the room after safari the mosquito nets had been drawn around the bed and the air conditioning was on low. We arrived from the safari at lunchtime which... More

Whilst this is a lovely hotel (and would be fine if staying in a city), it is unfortunately a really awful safari hotel. No wildlife seems to really come close to the hotel's watering hole and there was absolutely nothing to see from our balcony. Not a patch on the other hotels we stayed at where there were endless plains... More

We had one night at this hotel whilst on safari. The hotel accommodation overall was very pleasant but the room had not been properly cleaned and the sheets on the bed were very badly stained. Of the three lodges we stayed in this was the worst of the three.

We last visited Taita Hills some 12 years ago. Not sure it has changed much since. Stopped in for lunch whilst on Safari and enjoyed a very good lunch. Everywhere is very clean and it is nice to be able to sit out by the pool and enjoy a cold drink. Taita Hills has a genteel feel about it and... More

Stayed here on the last leg of our 4 day safari, rooms are a good standardand everywhere is spotlessly clean the lounge area has a large central chimney which is great for sitting around having a drink and a chat, the food was the best of all the lodges we stayed, like other reviewers have said the ginger sponge pudding... Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Sarova Taita Hills Game lodge is built in the style of a German fort and has a history dating back to World War 1. Over the years, creepers have claimed the exterior of the lodge giving it a "Country Inn" look. This however cannot mask the luxury within the lodge which includes spacious rooms, fine dining, and an outdoor pool where you can enjoy the glorious Kenyan weather when you're not enjoying a game drive. ... more   less
