We have just returned from the Funana having enjoyed a perfect winter break .No its not 5 star but for what we paid, excellent value for money.The rooms were very clean and well appointed with daily cleaning and fresh towels .We walked into Santa Maria on several occasions and a firm but polite no to the sellers did the trick... more

We disliked this resort, where we stay for a week on past March 2009. The rooms aren’t comfortable enough for a five star resort and we disliked very much the decoration. Never more Riu, never more with Thomson. Hotel is weak 4 star maximum . Cleanness fair but rest absolutely old dated. Only a little choice of food. Every day this same breakfast, lunch and diner. Went to Cape Verde on the 1 Dec for one week all inclusive .Was a nice relaxing holiday.Weather was in the high 80,s everyday.Food was very good.Loads to chose from. The rooms were nice & cleaned everyday. more

The Thomson flight was on time although a touch cramped and long due to adverse wind conditions.
