4 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

We stayed here for one week in November. Hotel was lovely and clean and bedroom tidied everyday with new sheets and towels. A little disappointed with the sea as always red flagged, but that hasn't affected my overall score, but if you like swimming in the sea Cape Verde isn't the place to go. Lots of activities to do in... More

Very disappointed to say the least. The hotel is very clean and comfortable but lacks so very much. Personally much of it is down to poor management and this could so easily be a top resort. The majority of the staff will not smile or even interact with you, and some of them even look sad, which you really do... More

We stayed for two weeks in a standard double room end-November to mid-December and enjoyed every single day. The "No Stress" attitude really comes to life in the whole club. Be prepared and willing to relax and you will love it. The Funana and the Garopa are pretty much the same hotel. Most rooms have the same shape and size... More

We returned from Cape Verde in mid November. The Hotel and staff were lovely. The rooms could do with updating, but the staff worked really hard. My first impression of Cape Verde was that it was very baron. This is the ideal place to go if you want to do NOTHING as there is not alot there at all. The... More

If you are expecting a 5 star boutique hotel you are going to be disappointed. When taken along with the Garopa (to all intents the Funana and the Garopa might as well be the same hotel) the Funana is a big hotel which caters for mass tourism. Having said that the hotel is clean, well maintained and comfortable. Service is... More

We stayed here for the first week of December. The hotel is huge but spread over such large grounds that you don't have the feeling of it being too much. It can accommodate up to about 2500 - 3000 people but you would never know. It is very very clean and the staff are absolutely superb. The food is good... More

The hotel was well maintained, clean and tidy with nice rooms. The food was fantastic, even in the buffet restaurants where there was a wide variety of choice to suit all tastes, it was freshly prepared and being cooked / served right in front of you. The a la carte restaurants could be booked in advance and also prepared a... More

A good holiday at a reasonable price...we paid £550 each for a week all inclusive... So can hardly complain!! This was our first holiday to Cape Verde and we selected the Funana based on the reviews. We had previously had holidays many times in Egypt with a similar all inclusive arrangement for a week although the price does differ quite... More

Just had a week at the Funana and on the whole the holiday was good. Positives - the pools, sunbeds, gardens, beach and public areas (bars, restaurants and hotel foyers) were very clean and well maintained. The staff were mainly helpful and friendly and smiley :) Negatives - The hotel room was very tired looking, the bedside lampshades were filthy... More

Always read the Tripadvisor pages before going anywhere this place lived up to the comments read.,the hotel is a bit tired but overall clean and bright. The food is what I would say typically all inclusive fare. drinks are varied but not the strength you get back home or so you may think some drinks are stronger than others. We had to...
