The auberge is a stunningly beautiful place. Situated next to the ocean in a clean area. The old colonial buildings have been modified into a restaurant, hotel building and bungalows. Swimming in the ocean is not possible due to the strong current. The swimming pool is a bit small and shallow. For European standards it is great value for money... More

It's a lovely place to stay, fantastic location and environment. The staff are really nice, even after about 4 days when we were the only customers for most meals. They speak mostly french but make friendly attempts at English. The food is good with mains about 4,600 CFAs and drinks about 1000. The beach is nice and the pool is... More

In spite of the vicissitudes in my experiences here I still love this place. I can't count the number of times I've been here. Initially I was absorbed by the great service so when that seemed to slip a bit I was disappointed. However, they have recently begun a gradual upgrading of the rooms so that they now have 4... It is difficult for me to rate this hotel because it is very basic, lacking air conditioning (except in one room) and hot water, but the restaurant is absolutely superb, even compared with good restaurants in New York. In addition, the owner, Guy Catherine, is extraordinarily helpful in all ways, beyond the call of duty. For me, the restaurant is... More

Came to see once a year Voddo festival and this hotel is a 10 minute walk away. Pleasant people, decent food, very helpful staff, very relaxing environment listening to crashing waves Its rigth on the Atlantic and despite this major event hardly anyone was here due to Ebola scare( which is not anywhere close)

On the beach, waves, best seafood, nice pool, seaview from heaven, not expensive....internet working.... Could we ask for more? I do not think so!!!! A friendly man selling slightly pricy souvenirs is easy to convince in terms of bargains. A lot of places have a lot to learn from Guy and his team!!!!

When we stayed here, we were the only guests there since we were there in the off-season. It was absolutely stunning. We stayed in a room facing the beach which was perfectly adequate for our needs. For dinner, we ordered a carafe of wine and ate barracuda on a beautiful veranda and enjoyed the breeze. After dinner, we went down... More

This "auberge" is certainly the place with the most caracter in Grandpopo. We slept in the old big building which overlooks a parc and a bit firther way, the beach. The rooms are really not more than basic, but they do if you want to be in such a historic building. The food is nice if you stay for one... More

absolutely brilliant place to escape the hardships of the West African road. Decent value, excellent food, interesting building, somewhat dangerous beach. Some interesting trips nearby but be careful with the semi-official guides...

We spent a great afternoon at the restaurant here and ate wonderful food. A really original menu and good service. All the food was well cooked. The terrace overlooks a beautiful beach, which was deserted when we visited. We didn't stay but the rooms looked comfortable.
