Lovely bright rooms. The menu is quite good but unfortunately the portions are so very small that I had to go out and eat again. My recommendation is stay at Awale and eat at the Auberge de Grand Popo.

great place to relax after 2 weeks of African roads and city hotels. lovely grounds and good rooms, but issues with A/C meant we were moved twice in 2 days good pool and nice to walk on the beach(not swimmable) and watch fishermen who live very close.ggod food but very slow service.

Beautiful grounds and facilities. The pool was great and clean. It was lovely to hear the sound of the waves. Also the pool man was incredibly helpful and also helps find you coconuts to drink and eat for 300CFAs - best coconut i've had in a while. Cons - for the amount of money and staying at a beach resort... More

After a fortnight exploring Togo & Benin in much worse hotels the Awale Plage was a much welcomed relief. Rooms equipped closer to European Standards with good AC and well presented. Comfortable and with a nice swimming pool. The restaurant was great with really good food but on the second night we had to wait 90 minutes and get a... More

We stay 2 nights at the Awale Plage resort on a recent tour in Benin. It has beautifully landscaped grounds and a beautiful, immaculately clean pool. Right on the beach, but the heavy surf and steeply sloped beach make it too dangerous to swim at. We had a nice bungalow, very clean, comfortable beds, and very quiet. No TV in... More

This is a remote site and pretty much cut off from the world. No TV in rooms. That said, the locals are living as they have for the past few hundred years and it is interesting to watch. The Gulf of Guinea is right at the beach. Grounds are well kept and the food pretty good. They are still running... More

I'll preface this: We must have gone on one of the busiest nights of the year, the night before Easter. However: They had my reservation wrong (I'd asked for a regular bungalow, they had me down for a twice-as-expensive "luxury" bungalow). They lost our friend's reservation. When I asked if they could put an extra bed or mattress in our... More

We spent four nights in the Awale Plage and had a really relaxing time. We stayed in a standard bungalow, which was big enough for us. The rooms were clean, although we weren’t able to recognize that somebody clean our rooms during our stay. We could recognize that the owner take care of the hotel area because the staff clean... Came here for a couple of days of recreation from a Niger job. It's a small beach resort that also organises meetings and conferences. Other than that, there is really nothing much to do: there is no real town or village, no markets, no watersports, no events, no things to see - just you and your family and friends/colleagues and... Entering the garden of this hotel immediately makes you feel good. The personnel you meet also makes you feel welcome. The rooms are ok as long as you don't sleep in them with four persons, because the lofts are to hot since the airconditioning doesn't reach that part of the room. There is really good food and the pool is... More
