Terrific experience. Especially if you love old houses, you will be completely in clover. This Federal-style 1820 mansion has been lovingly restored by the innkeeper, Nancy. She grew up in the house and takes great pride in it. She knows everything about her own house and a great deal about the surrounding properties if you are curious (and you will... More

There is no sign indicating the B&B so we passed the place and got a little lost coming in and went around the neighborhood a few times. The block that the B&B is on is nice, but just two blocks away, the neighborhood gets quite bad. There are boarded up houses with lots of trash and old furniture thrown out.... More

Nancy was very gracious, providing all sorts of info. The pets on the property were seperated/gated-- but freindly if you chose to interact. Well air-conditioned and comfortable, though could do w a new mattress, we were rolling into the pit every night. Cleaned daily so that was nice. Breakfast was nice as well, well priced, moderate level establishment. Though close... More

Nancy was warm, helpful and courteous. She easily handled the demands of our extended families with grace and skill. The home itself is spacious and beautiful. The outdoor areas are lovely and condusive to long conversations.

From the initial contact for reservations to our good-byes two days later, our special family gathering could not have been in a more comfortable, historic and elegant place. Our hostess, Nancy, was always available, whether it was for the exquisite breakfasts, history of her beautiful home as well as Newburgh, and even in her immediate referral for emergency car repair.... My wife and I stayed here on our anniversary weekend. Couldn't have been a nicer stay and a pleasant way to celebrate. We're not huge fans of B&Bs, but this one was great. As others have said here, the owner, Nancy, is present but doesn't hover, so you never feel like have to make small talk if you don't want... More

I thought this was a very nice bed and breakfast. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the views were lovely. The owner was not intrusive and she made some really tasty breakfasts. We spent a long weekend here and she was helpful with suggestions. Pros: The breakfasts and the bed (very comfortable). Cons: If you are coming up from... More

We stayed five nights. The room and adjoining bathroom were clean and spacious. Fresh towels were supplied daily. Nancy's breakfasts always included an elegant main dish, fruit, and coffee cake. The food was outstanding; Nancy also does catering. She did not repeat herself during our string of five breakfasts! Nancy was very flexible about varying the time of breakfast to... More

This is where you want to stay if you value proper service standards. The house is clean, beautiful and quiet, the service friendly but not fussy. Basically, it is a well oiled machine. The food is delicious and the innkeeper seems to strive to assist guests in finding restaurants and local points of interests that will suit them. I would... More

We wanted a quiet base to explore the Hudson Valley, and Goldsmith Denniston House was the perfect choice. It's on the most charming street and a ten minute walk to the waterfront. Nancy was a great hostess and prepared a delicious breakfast. The bed was perfect and we had a great night's sleep.
