In the woods near the town of New Paltz is located a modest home with two B&B rooms located on the ground floor. The one we stayed in was the larger of the two; double/queen bed; private bath; large exercise or TV area. The hotelier provides the room with freshly baked breads, fruit, and other healthy snacks. There is a... More

My daughter and I spent 2 nights in the loft suite, and were impressed by the comfort, simplicity, and cleanliness of the space -- as well as by the green and quiet setting. It's near enough to New Paltz to get into town, also an easy drive to Blue Cliffs Monastery, for those seeking a meditation/mindfulness experience. Great hiking nearby... More

I have stayed at Roots & Wings twice: once with my boyfriend for a several day retreat and once I came for the day with a friend. Both times, we found the space to be welcoming, clean, comfortable and within close proximity to both the main town of New Paltz as well as Mohunk Preserve. Puja was very helpful in... More

We stayed at the Garden Suite for a night, and truly enjoyed it. It was spacious, plenty of room for 4 adults and one child, exclusive access to the beautiful backyard that seemed quite exclusive and secluded was a great plus, watching the firefly show at night in the backyard was quite a magical experience. Puja is a lovely host,... More

We stayed in the loft room and had a wonderful experience. Puja is a terrific host, providing just enough care and attention so that we felt welcome but not crowded. Our room was very clean, nicely decorated and inviting. The home-made breads she left in our refrigerator were delicious. The private deck out back proved to be a very special... More

We stayed in the Garden room on the lower level for one night. Puja also showed me the Mountain room on a higher level. The garden room is definitely much bigger and spacious, with a microwave, a small fridge and hot drinking water, although no stove for cooking. The mountain room is architecturally a bit more interesting but a bit... More

Roots and Wings was a lovely, peaceful escape. We loved sleeping in the loft, having our own entrance and our own, tiny kitchen. It felt very welcoming and private. It was like a romantic, little ship. I preferred it so much to the communal meals and how-de-dos that so often accompany staying in a B&B. The only downside was needing... More

Serene B & B with own terrace facing the ridge, all organic products complement the cozy home atmosphere with loft bed looking into the sky. The very helpful and accommodating landlady with refreshing holistic approach ensures a pleasurable stay.

By far one of worst B&B's have stayed in. The kitchen is in the room and you make your own breakfast - and do your own dishes. Lots of yummy fruit, breads, healthy and non-healthy cereals etc. Mountain room is nicely appointed and creativity apparent in fold down tables and wall hangings. Was very clean, but all is old and... More

I’m sorry you found the Mountain Studio to be disappointing in spite of being clean, nicely appointed and creatively designed, qualities guests often mention. I’d like to make a few observations and comments: The Adirondack chairs you referred to, while old and weathered, are still incredibly sturdy. I have never asked B & B guests to do their own dishes.... More

We were in the Montain View...very comfortable, small but all the amenities. Just what we wanted. Puja showed us around upon arrival and was available, check in with us to see if we needed anything. We really enjoyed our stay.
