This hostel's a great and cheap option in New Paltz. I only stayed here one night, but it was one quiet, comfy night. Big clean bed, clean bathroom, intimate atmosphere. Right on Main Street, near great restaurants and shops. For those heading to the Metro-North station in Poughkeepsie, take the Ulster public bus. It runs seven days a week, cost... More

We usually stay in chain hotels (Marriott, Aloft, etc.) and in smaller towns in B&Bs. This time around only half of us were on vacation (Parent and Teenager) and we wanted to be in a more friendly and easygoing environment and for that New Paltz Hostel was a great success. The accommodations are modest, the building in OK conditions. The... More

New Paltz Hostel is literally located next to the bus stop and just a few steps away from the center of town. This makes it incredibly convenient when traveling from the City using Trailways or Greyhound and you're getting in late at night and just want to crash. The reservation process was very easy and my boyfriend and I were... More

If you read this, you may to want to stay there and I want to keep this as my secret. But first - you must understand it is a hostel. It is not a hotel. Having said that, This is the cleanest, quietest hostel I have ever stayed in. The no drinking/drugs/smoking rule is heaven for those of us who... More

I wrote a glowing review about this hostel back in August. Unfortunately, when I returned in October for a week stay I was VERY DISAPPOINTED. First, "Ledo" (owner) was not around and despite having contacting him he never had courtesy to reply. Although, he was in constant contact with staff. First, the hostel guest now must use rear door entrance... More

We have stayed at this hostel a number of times over the years. It is certainly not for every traveler, but it suits our needs perfectly. We like the fact that there is a strict no drugs/alcohol/smoking policy and the hostel is one of the quietest I have ever stayed in. This is not a hostel for the late night... More

I found this to be one of the best hostel every visited here in USA or overseas. The Manager is so kind and friendly and the atmosphere is hygienic superior. The hostel has everything you could think of within reach. Adequate fridge storage, state of the art kitchen and washer/dryer. I was only surprised no iron was available and lockers... More

I stayed here two weekends in June while climbing at the Gunks. I stayed in the shared room with 6 bunks. There were four of us and it didnt seem uncomfortable or noisy. I also stayed in the sunflower room with a private bath and shared it with another woman. The room is large, comfortable beds, clean. I love that... More

I wanted to go climbing and backpacking at the Gunks and needed a place to stay with my friends for two nights. We got off the bus on main street and the place was right next door. It was a great atmosphere , free coffee, internet, wireless access, and use of kitchen. It was a much warming feeling than a... More
