I am a SUNY New Paltz graduate. I have traveled the world and there is no more comfortable, hospitable, clean, loving place to stay than the Inn at Orchard Heights for so many reasons. While I was still attending SUNY NP, my parents would come up every Fall and we would all spend the weekend at Janet and Darryl's inn.... More

This is was great for us. YES, you have to walk down the hall to take a shower, but you do have a sink/toilet in the room. When I say it is old school, I mean it is not a formal upscale inn. It is the "wow, here I am in a town and need a room in a house"... More

New Paltz is such a surprising town. Very bohemian with great, organic, outdoorsy, and alternative population, so finding a great place to stay with character is a must! The Inn at Orchard Heights has the location. Super easy walk to the Hugenot Street, to the main drag with all its interesting non-chain shops and restaurants, farmer's market and antique zone.... We loved this place! It is quirky and charming, the proprietor (Janet) is one of the nicest people out there, and the location can't be beat -- right downtown, close to all the action and the bus to/from NYC. Breakfast was awesome, too! We lucked into finding the Inn at Orchard Heights thanks to a neighboring cabbie's recommendation, and we... More

In town for a friend's birthday, my wife and I were shocked to see how limited the hotel options were in the area. We stumbled upon this place after reading terrible reviews of the two motels in town and we're glad we chose this. Very convenient location and Janet was extremely accommodating--after informing her that my wife and I were... More

This quiet little B & B was just what we wanted. The owners went above and beyond with everything from taking our very-last-minute reservations to our cook-to-order breakfasts. We found the next morning that we were sharing the Inn with a couple, but we all had not even heard each other. And we had a baby with us, too. We... More

My wife and I went to New Paltz to visit a couple of nephews and picked this place because it was near the center of town. When I turned down Church St., at first I did not see it. Then I noticed a sign for the Inn. Here is the thing, my wife and I had gone to college here... More

Stayed for a night with my boyfriend, and had a very relaxed, pleasant time! Conveniently located, snug room, and friendly folks! We rented snowshoes from Rock & Snow, a short walk away, at around $15 a pair. Makes for a great weekend!

In reading other reviews of this place on Tripadvisor, I feel like I stayed at a different place. On the plus side, the house itself is beautiful, is close to town, and the owners are nice people, but the place is totally shabby and filled to the brim with tons of cheap Victorian kitsch; no shower in the room (down... First and foremost, location: right in town, you can walk to any place you want to go....not the main reason to stay here tho. If you like eclectic, Victorian, intimate w a little laid back vibe, you have arrived! Owner Janet really cool and puts on an awesome breakfast spread w local ingredients including some local hot sauces I had... More
