My daughter's June wedding was being held at a private residence not far from the Hungry Ghost and her aunt and namesake was determined to come despite multiple health setbacks including memory loss. We hoped that putting her up at this nearby guest house would simplify including her as the setting is rustic and she walks with two canes. I... More

The Hungry Ghost is the epitome of serene. Petra was warm and welcoming and even went out of her way to whip up some amazing raw cheesecake for us. The room upstairs has an incredible view of the woods and a charming sloped ceiling that adds even more coziness to the super comfortable bed. The bathroom is down a beautiful... More

Had a wonderful weekend trip here with my boyfriend. While staying here, we felt very welcomed and relaxed. The host, Petra, is fabulous.....she gave us charming maps drawn by hand, and recommended hikes and places to swim. She also made the greatest breakfasts, including homemade cashew cream for coffee (amazing!!!!!!). The B&B was very well kept and clean. Highly recommend... More

I just stayed at the Hungry Ghost Guest House for maybe the 6th or 7th time (I lost track) and realized that it is time for my annual review of my favorite B & B. Initially, I stayed there when visiting my son at SUNY New Paltz. Now I visit even when he isn't there to spend time with my... More

Where to begin! I spent my first night at the Hungry Ghost last month, and absolutely cannot wait to return. Since then, I have made at least 7 recommendations to friends and family who are looking to experience an enriching and rejuvenating getaway. First and foremost, the guest house is absolutely gorgeous...and spotless! Not to mention heated beds, vegan meals,... More

I have stayed at the Hungry Ghost Guest House many times and each stay was more special than the last! I love the coziness of the guest rooms and how relaxing it feels to sit in the living room with a burning fire to read by. The backyard is beautiful with a pond that is adjacent to the woods, including... More

I first started going to the Hungry Ghost 5 years ago. I cannot seem to stay away! I travel for business and stay at the Hungry Ghost at least a few times a year. There are many things to share about how incredible and peaceful the Hungry Ghost is. First and foremost, Petra and Mike are fantastic. From the pick-up... More

Stayed here 2 nights (barley), took room #1 despite other reviewers warning against it. Home is lovely, clean with updated linens and crisp lines in design (as opposed to some other B&B's who have granny's old quilted comforter and too much wood paneling). Hostess is warm and welcoming. Property is off the road, so no traffic noise and offers a... More

First off, thank you for staying with us. Your bright energy and cheerful smile was a terrific welcome when we met! Our continued conversations have been pleasant and helpful. Upon our initial greeting you expressed a desire for absolute quiet. Had I know this prior to your stay I may have recommended the upstairs room which is on a separate... More

My boyfriend & I stayed at the Hungry Ghost for 1 night this past weekend. It's perfectly located in New Paltz. We were able to get a last minute booking since they typically only accommodate 2-night stays. Needless to say, we will be going back for 2 PLUS nights next time. Petra & Michael are gracious hosts and the house... More

The vegan glutin free food smells great, looks and tastes good and best of all helps you to feel good. Every morning is a new surprise. Mike and Petra provide an open and loving atmosphere and are extremely knowledgeable about the area activities as well as multiple sports. Petra is a very giving host and offers wonderful massage, swimming lessons... More

This last visit was the most special as we got to see you twice this year and you keep getting healthier and more fit. Such a treat to be able to be a part of your healing and adventures. Happy birthday and many many more! More
