Had a wondeful time. The owners and their multilingual son Luke were great hosts. Beatiful old building in stunning scenery. Our room was a massive suite and a real bargain price. Superb food cooked by the owner who is a great French chef. Try the French onion soup, it's great! A relief to have food that wasn't fried. The owner... more

The owners are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. The food is out of this world and not too pricey. Extensive bar adjacent to the restaurant. The bedroom could use some fresh paint and new decor but they are priced accordingly. Highly recommend this place for a weekend getaway, very close to Woodstock and Phoenicia for entertainment... more

I had stayed in La Duchesse Anne at its previous location and enjoyed my stay so when I was on my way back from the Berkshires, I decided to locate the new one and stay for a few days. My stay lasted ten days! I recently experienced a death in my family and was merely looking for some respite. The... more

My husband and I stayed at La Duchesse Anne for three nights on the second weekend of August. First, I must commend Fab and Aimee for working so hard . They are a young couple who have undertaken the arduous task of getting what could become a successful business off and running. So kudos to you both! It was, indeed,... more

The place is very old and not in the good way. We got two adjoining rooms: none of them had an air-conditioner (there's not central air). We had one tiny dirty fan. The window in one room was broken and would not stay up, and was missing a mosquito screen. I did finally complain and we were given a window... more

found this place by accident...i travel a lot for a living and here i enjoyed some of the best cooking i have ever experienced - the duck was extraordinary. the generosity and friendship of the hosts was worldly and genuine and the room was quirky and cute. if you want bland and boring go elsewhere... if you want a place... more

What is truly wonderful about this hotel is that the property has tremendous potential. Given that Fabrice and his wife Aimee and little Luke (also adorable doggy Nemo) are so loving and generous I expect great things to happen here. Fabrice has a tremendous reputation as a renowned internationally trained French chef and is an enthusiastic host who obviously loves... more

After an absence of many years, my return to the La Duchesse Anne dining room was filled with excitement and anticipation. As is so often the case, high expectations based on past experience led to high disappointment. We walked in the main entrance and were greeted by a couple sitting at the bar, alternatively eating their meal and fussing with... more

Our room was large but dark and gloomy, and there was an overwhelming stink of urine and mustiness. We have stayed in hostels in Turkey, $5 a night roadside hotels in Puerto Rico, and we understand the charm of simple and spare hotels. But this was simply dirty and depressing and not cheap. There was duct tape on a window... more

My wife took me up to the Catskills for my birthday and found this place on line. She mentioned that right from the phone call, the owner, Fab, seemed really nice. The first evening after we arrived we went downstairs to the restaurant and drank some tea and chatted to Fab and Aimee and met their adorable baby, friendly cat... more
