While traveling through the Hudson Valley over the holidays, our car broke down on New Years Day. Ed, the innkeeper, called around, found us a garage specializing in our car and made an appointment for us for the next day. He then offered us the use of his own car, leaving the car keys outside our room. Even though we... More

My girlfriend and I live in Astoria, Queens. We are always on the go and work an awful lot! We were searching online to find a nice place to escape the true hustle and bustle of the city. We found our way to the Academy House website and called for some info. After agreeing on making this our weekend plan,... More

After a Thanksgiving dinner nearby a group of us adjourned to this inn where we had a wonderful time. Our host truly made us feel welcome and the beds and rooms were exceptionally comfortable. We will definitely be returning next year. More

What a laxing place to stay. I love older houses, the place is very clean, warm and welcoming, the rooms are great. Ed and Catherine always make me feel at home. Montgomery has a lot of restaurants and shops within walking distance and the towns people are very friendly. Every morning the breakfast is delicious. I've stayed there a bunch... More

The four of us went there for a spa getaway weekend. Upon arrival, Ed and Catherine, the friendly hosts/innkeeper made us feel at home instantly. We booked a few treatments (eg. massage and facial) and all of us were melted by the spa treatments we got. It was a rained out weekend but we were as happy staying in. There... More

I would firstly like to highlight that this is my 2nd stay at this 'gem' after spending 2 week earlier in the year ( june / july) on my own, I decided to introduce my husband to the wonderful hospitality and delights of what I can only say as a 'real gem'. Catie and Ed are real hosts as you... More

I had the pleasure of staying at The Mead-Tooker House on a resent visit to the Orange County N.Y. area. The accommodations were excellent. Very, very clean and comfortable room. Great breakfast by Ed, don’t miss it. You’re just a short walk to area shops and restaurants and a short drive to other area attractions. The proprietors Ed and Katie... More

A group of my girlfriends and myself stayed at the Mead-Tooker House for a relaxing "girls" weekend. Upon arrival, we found a very gracious host, Innkeeper Edward, who checked us in and recommended some destinations for dinner and shopping. The next day we booked massages with the In-House Licensed Massage Therapist, Catherine, which was incredible. Breakfast was hands down delicious... More

We really enjoyed our recent stay at the Mead-Tooker house while staying in the Garden Room. The bed was very comfortable with an abundance of pillows and comfortable linens. The breakfasts were abundant and delicious, and we enjoyed sharing them with the other guests. Ed, the innkeeper, accomodated our every request immediately and was very helpful providing suggestions. He is... More

My fiance and I stayed at the Mead Tooker this past summer, we were in town for a wedding. Edward, the Innkeeper, is a pure delight not to mention a very knowledgable guy when it comes to the history of the inn and the village itself. Our room was gorgeous, so clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious! Two thumbs up..we... More
