We have stayed at the Borland House on three different occasions. The reason we returned is because of the kindness and hospitality shown to us by the owners, Carol and Bill. The first time we stayed, we needed a box lunch to attend a family picnic. Not only did they find a way to provide one, they added homemade brownies... More

We have mixed views about our stay at Borland. THE PLUSES: wonderful location and a beautiful house in a very nice village. The house is located in a quiet neighbourhood and is a historic property. It is wonderfully decorated and the owners clearly pay attention to detail. The owners are very friendly and very accommodating. They are happy to offer... More

We always appreciate feedback from our guests and go out of our way to meet individual preferences and needs if we are made aware of them. To clarify, we are not a kosher B&B. We have a variety of room options and are happy to make changes when concerns are brought to our attention. More

We spent one night here last weekend (Aug 2008) as we were driving from Virginia to Connecticut, and we wished we could have stayed longer. It's a lovely B&B, and Carol and Bill are wonderful hosts. You really feel welcome when they greet you, offer to take your bags, and pour you a large glass of wine. We enjoyed sitting... More

Carol and Bill are just about the nicest people you will meet. The service they provoide is well worth the moderate price tag. Highlights of our stay includ evening wine & cheese with the hosts, and the elegant breakfast. Well done!

Well appointed and well restored 18th Century house. Comfortable and relaxing. More than just a continental breafast, the three courses include a small blueberry crumble and a clementine sorbet palate cleanser as well as the main course (pictured). Bill and Carol work hard at making your stay nice and it shows. Wish we had more time to stay here.

Carol and Bill made our bike race weekend, The Dark Horse Gallop, something to remember. From wine, cheese and good conversation to delightful, music, ambiance, architecture, comfy beds and amazing breakfast we felt at home yet pampered. Such a delightful town too. All of their recommendations were spot on. Thank you Carol and Bill for being so wonderful. If you... More

A year ago we had the unique pleasure of spending a night at Borland House, in Montgomery, New York. The house is lovely architecturally, which the owners have respected and treated sensitively. Bedrooms were large and comfortable, as were the baths. Breakfast was a taste treat indeed -- imaginative and sumptuous. The apricot freeze was dynamite!! Most delightful were the... More

My fiancee and I spent 2 nights with Carol and Bill and immediately felt like we were part of their extended family. Everything about our visit was wonderful and it created some special memories we will cherish throughout our entire lives. Thanks Carol and Bill!

When big hotels are talking about “creating the experience” they’re probably trying to achieve what Bill and Carol have down to the perfection at the Borland House. Everything from our first contact with them to the minute we walked out of the door was perfect. I mean – it was perfect, if I had some magic software that allows editing... More
