We just got back from the Born Free Motel. I found it to be a nice place to stay. It's just across the road from the beach. There was a stove, fridge, microwave a coffee maker and pots and pans. Each unit in this hotel is owned individually (condos), and our unit was fantastic. It had everything we needed for our short stay, plus games, books, and a kitchen that held the minimal essentials. I would definitely stay again, but I would request our room on the seond floor.

Thin walls, noisy, dirty, old, there were rooms full of teenagers that were fighting, yelling and getting drunk and the staff did not doing anything about. Would never stay here again! Had to find another hotel to stay at the last night because I was not able to get any sleep.

This place was perfect for a weekend get away from the city. There are not a lot of open businesses in Montauk in the fall/winter but Born Free was a great cozy place to shack up. Hurricane warning, mandatory evacuations Island-wide!!! Yet this hotel will not refund my paid-in-full deposit for 3 nights, which would have started tonight. I spoke to their management and they refuse to budge on this.
