We stayed in three different accommodations at Buttermilk Falls; the Wren's Nest, the Pony Pad, and the North Cottage. All three were totally delightful, each in different ways, and, overall, it was a great five day stay. We hope to come back soon. Missing, however were a few of the luxury details that one would expect at luxury accommodation prices.... More

Had a lovely getaway in the Hudson River valley at this beautiful, cozy property. Staff was friendly, kind, attentive from start to finish. This is not a fancy, stuffy place, but comfortable, shabby chic elegance. Complimentary breakfast was gorgeous and so delightfully relaxing. Complimentary afternoon tea was over-the-top with the selection of pastries! The grounds are picture perfect. Dinner at... More

My husband and I took a trip to the Hudson Valley and we booked a room at Buttermilk Falls Inn. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. The grounds were spacious and picturesque. The breakfast and dinner were very good. The staff was friendly and helpful. The only negative comment we have is that there was no... More

Booked this delightful inn for three days as a honeymoon break - what a beautiful place. Being a hotelier I am difficult to please (!) but Buttermilk Falls was just what I needed, wanted and expected. The room (Winterberry) was delightful with a spacious balcony overlooking the grounds. Bed was comfortable there was plenty of space in the room. The... More

My wife and I enjoyed an extended celebration of our 34th anniversary. First, we visited Woodstock and then luxuriated for three days at the Buttermilk Falls Inn & Spa. We can't wait to return and signed up for emails of their special offerings. Here is why: 1. The accommodations have an old world charm. The main house has about 11... More

We were very happy with our stay at Buttermilk. The staff warmly welcomed us and explained the property and amenities. The spa, pool and locker areas were all spotless. The massage was one of the best I've had (you need to book your treatments well in advance). We had an exceptional dinner at Henry's (on the grounds next to the... More

We stayed here last year and I liked it enough to come back. We were going climbing at the Gunks which is West of New Paltz so about a 25 mile drive but I wanted to be here anyway. The grounds are really nice, only wish we stayed longer so I could spend more time here. Ate breakfast and it... More

Buttermilk is the absolute best. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. My family has been going to BMF for about 4 years and we cannot wait to go back! My family and friends all just stayed at BMF last week and everyone loved it. Definitely visit if you are looking for a relaxing, beautiful, fun weekend upstate!

We had a wonderful relaxing stay on our recent trip with friends to the inn. We stayed in the Juniper room, which is lovely. Nice size bathroom, walk in closet, small refrigerator, TV and comfortable bed. Decorated nicely and clean. There is a balcony off the room. This is the only area that could use improvement. I did let the... More

Buttermilk Falls Inn & Spa is a nice, upscale (but not too upscale) hostelry in the country. If you want the Ritz-Carlton, this is NOT the place for you. If, however, you desire a clean, homey room in a 200+ year-old farm house with nice amenities, then maybe it is. There are guest rooms in the main house as well... More
