Amazing views, great food and serene atmosphere, of course we will repeat our visit. The hike to buttermilk falls was beautifulave. We enjoy the different kinds of animals present at the farm the rooms were clean and nicely furnished.

I really can't say anything else about this place that probably hasn't been said already. Gindele Suite: beautiful, clean, beautiful, and beautiful. Great kitchen (came equipped with basic kitchen needs), great bathroom, GREAT bed. I don't think more than 2 would fit in that room comfortably. One of the sofas pulls out I think, but I dunno I'd be uncomfortable... More

Judging by the surrounding area, I was skeptical of how nice this place could actually be. Boy was I wrong. GROUNDS: the grounds are simply beautiful; hilly with river views, a beautiful pond with a big weeping willow tree, ducks, swans, and geese, and animals everywhere. As an animal lover, I was overjoyed to see the goats come right up... More

We came here for a mini-honeymoon, which is the only way we could justify spending so much on a hotel. It's a nice place, but I wouldn't recommend it to other honeymooners; it's not very romantic, and there were kids around. We were there over the 4th of July weekend, which might have raised the price. Yes, the grounds are... More

I've been here a few times and always leave feeling so pampered and relaxed. The staff is very professional. The grounds of the inn are so tranquil... Heaven! The only consist is that the bathroom is small and can get crowded during peak hours. Can't wait to go back again.

Went here for a short overnight getaway. We stayed in Maynor Flat which is separate from the main building and upstairs. The room was charming and comfortable. It is very close to the main building and the restaurant. Afternoon tea was lovely and breakfast in the morning was delicious and satisfying. In addition to pastries and breads, there were an... Our group of three stayed in the Riverknoll Downs unit. The unit was very spacious and had a great view of the river, but I would not stay there again because the unit upstairs has hardwood floors and there is little to no sound buffering. Our first night there were 9 people in the unit upstairs who wore hard shoes,... More

We stayed at the Buttermilk Falls Inn in late July for one night. We were very excited based on the reviews. Our experience was not as uniformly positive as other reviewers. While the property is lovely, our room in the Inn (the Basil Room) was not up to the standards one would expect at such an expensive property ($360 for... More

Amazing location, set up, staff and food. Only downside is the pool doesn't allow under 16s in, but Ulster County has open air pools. Henry's next to the hotel does the most amazing food. Especially brunch and the portion sizes are vast! There is a little farm with lamas, donkeys, chickens, etc. it's walking distance to Milton which has a... More

Our son was attending the Culinary Institute of America for the past 3 years and have stayed here twice during those years. The first time was when we moved our son into the dorms for the first time (August 2012) We stayed in the Winterberry Room and loved it's coziness and view of the pond and grounds. Breakfasts were always... More
