We recently spent a couple of nights at this Inn with friends. What a fabulous find....the property was beautiful, the food was delicious and the staff was superb. Our room in the Inns main building was large, clean and quiet with a lovely view of the property and the Hudson River. The Spa was wonderful as was the pool and... More

We had a wonderful experience. The food was great. Warm staff, beautiful property. We went on a hike and saw the animals, gardens and waterfall. Definitely would go back and have recommended family to go there. May not be great with kids.

We thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend in Pony's Pad with it's 2-story space, private deck and kitchen. Very romantic setting on the Hudson with beautifully maintained grounds--gardens, ponds, sitting areas, paddle boats, bikes, mini-farm and trails to explore. The spa and indoor pool was peaceful and never crowded. I had a very professional and relaxing signature massage in the spa... More

The good: Gorgeous location - beautiful, lovingly cared for grounds, river views, a charming aviary and barn. The food - breakfast (included) was delicious, far better than most light buffets I've had. High-quality pastries, fresh fruit, and well-executed daily egg specials. Henry's dinner was mostly good, though our steaks were rather sinuous and tough; I think the chef cheaped out... More

We stayed at Buttermilk Falls Inn and Spa this past weekend for two nights, for a romantic getaway from the city. I saw the Metro North special on the site which included a ride to and from the closest train station, Poughkeepsie, which was convenient for us since we don't have a car. Make sure to mention that special when... More

My children gave me a gift certificate for the inn and a spa treatment for my birthday. My husband and I spent 2 nights and each had a spa treatment. The entire experience was wonderful. The accommodations (Winterberry) were lovely, with a private patio overlooking Hudson River. The grounds were exceptionally well cared for, with many interesting animals, esp. llamas.... More

We stayed at Buttermilk for a girls overnight spa weekend. We had been to the spa for the day last year and this time decided to stay overnight. We booked the River Birch House and it was perfect. It was a great house. Four bedrooms, each with a king bed and its own nicely designed bathroom. Each day "tea" is... More

We chose Buttermilk Inn and Spa on a whim. My fiance and I were looking for a weekend getaway, under a 4 hour drive from NYC. We could not have picked a better location. About 1.5 hour drive and we felt like we were in a different hemisphere. The grounds of the Inn are extraordinary! So expansive and with a... More

My husband and I just spent three nights at Buttermilk Falls in celebration of our ten year wedding anniversary. Our stay was absolutely wonderful. The inn is lovely (the rooms are much nicer than they appear in the photos on the website), the staff is friendly and helpful without being at all intrusive or obsequious, the grounds are unbelievably beautiful,...
