So they have ten rooms, no smoking, but have two butt bins outside the doors. Yes, the rooms were clean, service was very friendly and breakfast was adequate. The front office ladies really did everything possible to make the most of the location, ski discounts, etc. But the ice on the pathways to office were deadly, no attempt was ever made... More

Though we cannot account for every guest's olfactory sensitivities this is the first we have received with a stale odor concern. We do wish to thank you for all the outstanding ratings you gave our staff for those things we can in fact control; your comfort, our customer service and the cleanliness of our facilities. Our team works very hard... More

This is not the first time I stayed at this hotel so I knew what to expect. It is like going back to the fifties before there where major motel chains. The hotel could use some up grades but if you are looking for a clean and comfortable bed and nothing else the place is fine. If you want more... More

We stayed here for one night on a road trip. As my (Australian) wife is called Margaret and, oddly, one of her ancestors was born here in the 1700's, we had to stay in Margaretville. The motel is fairly basic and tired as well as being relatively expensive compared to most of the motels we used. On the other hand,... More

It was the spring.....and it did appear the hotel was just opening up and airing the place out....but, ugh. Horrible. Floor was terribly warped. Felt like you were gonna go right thru it. Smell was stale. The place needs updating. Thank God we didn't spend a lot of money, but then again you get what you pay for.

Clean room, friendly staff, large fridge and microwave in the room. After a day of skiing, we picked up some goodies for dinner from the deli at the grocery store in Margaretville -- extensive collection of craft beers! -- and feasted before we passed out from our adventures. Nothing fancy at this motel, but everything you need. Extra tips: Also... More

A beautiful little motel run by a wonderful woman. There are nearby eating options and plenty of things to see and do if you arrive by car. I loved the room layout - with the vanity on the bed side - that allowed you to move around easily without feeling cramped. I'd certainly stay again if I returned to the... More

Nice place, clean and friendly. It is what it is. A roadside motel with down-to-earth people and prices. I knew I wasn't going to be in the Waldorf-Astoria but I didn't expect the level of comfort and friendliness. I especially appreciated that like very upscale hotels, the vanity is not in the bathroom. Now I don't have to wait while... More

My husband and I stayed in the B & B for 3 nights last week. We were in the area to attend a wedding. The room was comfortable, the front porch very relaxing, and the breakfast every morning was awesome !! We took a great walk down the road that runs along the side of the property, a very scenic... This past weekend I stayed at the Margaretville Motel and couldn't ask for a better stay.I've stayed at many motels and nothing can compare to here.I must say I was a little nervous after reading a couple of the reviews but was pleasantly suprised upon my arrival and realized that as sad as it is some people just like to... This will probably be the one and only time we will be in Margaretville. Visiting for a wedding, we made our lodging plans a little on the late side, so the motel was the only place left. The price was $188 for two nights. That is a little steep for what we encountered here. As we first walked in we... More

Management response:

Dear guests, the staff and myself are sorry your stay was not up to your standards, however had you told us of the cleaning issues we would have corrected them immediately, I'm sorry the style is not to your liking but the bedding is not from the 1970's. and we do not have a red carpet. The price of $188.00... More
