La Hacienda is located on the Lion Hill, 20 minutes car drive from the airport (we paid 700-900 MR for the taxi). The houses are build on the slopes of the hill. You arrive via a bumpy road through the sugar cane fields. Quite special. A very peaceful place with a wonderful view from your terrace (with lazy chairs) to... More

An idyllic backdrop; set between Lion Mountain & the Sea. Cabins on a steep hillside. The mini swimming pool is set in a particularly scenic manner. The stone wall, wooden gate, & security guards- keep intruders at bay. If you plan to explore the surrounding area on foot; keep in mind that the small town below- has a LARGE population... More

I stayed here for two nights. The view from the rooms is great. Cooking facilities are provided and you cook you own eggs for breakfast. Fresh herbs and papaya are also available in the property. You can get here using the buses but be aware that the walk from the bus is straight uphill so a car is recommended.

Drove up a narrow track to La Hacienda. Just a few cottages and a much larger villa ( for families), located at the foot of Lion Peak - fantastic views of Mahebourg Bay below - total silence amidst the fruit trees and your only companions being a friendly Labrador that's owned by the owner of the hotel who lives right... Firstly, my stay at LA Hacienda was in June 2012; however, I missed updating at that time. The hotel is located on a hill that makes it unique as most other hotels in Mauritius wound boast about their proximity to the beaches. The area chosen for the hotel/villas is very romantic and cozy. The villas also have a fabulous view... More

My family and I stayed here in August 2013. We used it for a 3-night stopover on our way back from Madagascar and stayed in the 'Pink Pigeon' villa which is the site's only 2-bedroom accommodation. We have previously stayed in 5-star all-inclusive resorts on Mauritius but found them a little soulless. However, La Hacienda was just perfect. Situated halfway... More

I was really impressed with La Hacienda. From the rather mystic approach up a really steep hill, and the sugar cane towering over the car to the welcome, standard of the villas and the view. The location is great - 20 minutes from the airport, a short drive to Blue Bay and the south east attractions such as La Vanille,... More

First point to note is that La Hacienda is not near to any beach and is not a hotel. It is Villa type accommodation, situated on a sugar cane plantation half way up the imposing Lion Mountain in Grande Port, just outside Mahebourg, directly across the lagoon from Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport. If not using an airport or local... More

This Hotel is not well known to begin with... it's 20-25 min. drive from the Airport which is good for business travelers but again not too many people know of it as it is just 4 yrs old. That could be a challenge. The View is to die for... as it's on the Mountain. but then again you cannot think... More
