My hiking buddy and I really like Sandy Point when we're tackling the lower Adirondack peaks. The owners are great, the hotel is clean and quiet, and the view of Long Lake from the screened porches is tremendous. The decor is older but in great shape and a nice change from the cookie cutter chains. Very Relaxing, and a great... More

We have stayed there several times during the past 4 years. The rooms have a wonderful view of the lake and a screened in porch to sit and relax. The rooms are a bit dated, but some are in the process of being remodeled. Dave, the owner, goes out of his way to accommodate the guest. We love it there.

If you are going to the middle of the Adirondack park I don't know if there is any super place to stay - rustic really means rustic. Sandy Point is lovely though - each room has a great view of Long Lake with an enclosed (screen) patio that is great for relaxing. Our room was clean, I had no trouble... More

We watched boats glide by, heard birds singing and saw the sun sink below the horizon in a blaze of orange - all without leaving our motel room. My husband and I recently spent a week at the Sandy Point Motel and loved it. Every room faces the lake and offers visitors a dazzling view. We loved opening the curtain... More

The view, the room and the management make this place. It's a 60's style hotel that is very clean. Owner, Dave, was informative and easy to work with. The location was perfect for our purposes. We used it a as base camp to travel through the area and really enjoyed hanging out on our deck overlooking the lake listening to... More

My name is Collin, I'm 13. The reason I rate this hotel a 4, is because it's great for fishing and swimming. A very nice deck that overlooks the lake. There is very nice bedrooms, and the bedrooms overlook the Long Lake. The boat rental is very reasonable.

We recently visited Long Lake, New York for visiting day at our daughter's camp. We had no idea where to stay in Long Lake and most of the "motels" in the area had been booked for more than a year already. Dave, the owner of Sandy Point, went out of his way to accommodate us in his "over flow" space,... More

This was my first visit to the Adirondacks but it won't be the last! And I will definitely go back Sandy Point Motel. The perfect quaint/rustic lakeside motel, the rooms all look over the water and have screened in porches which make them feel even bigger. They have amazing views up and down the lake and one of the few... More

I have stayed twice now at Sandy Point Motel, I think the view from the screened in porches that come with each room is one of the prettiest, most relaxing that I can think of. The rooms are extremely clean, the owner, Dave, is friendly and helpful. Long Lake is in the heart of the Adirondacks, this is an excellent... More
