Overall a good place to stay that is quiet and convenient to subways. Breakfast was adequate but basic. Ive never understood why hotels especially this high up on the choice hotel scale cant make a really good breakfast. Room was quiet and must feature sound absorbing windows. Water pressure good and room was clean. TV was digital on the wall... More

The Verve is a nice hotel and only a couple of train stops to Manhattan. Manhattan hotels are very expensive and this is a great alternative. When we checked in, the refrigerator did not work nor did the TV. We called the desk and within a couple of minutes maintenance was there and fixed both in less than 5 minutes.... More

This a nice hotel for reasonable amount if you don't want to stay at the very expensive hotels on Manhattan. The rooms are clean and comfortable beds. Breakfast is nothing special, but okay for a morning start before jumping on a nearby Sub and easy transport to Manhattan, where different food can be enjoyed during the day.

This is the first time staying at this hotel. Honestly, as we were walking to the hotel from the metro, I was questioning the location. The street was lined with trash and we even passed a rusty bike with stripped tires chained to a sign. Once we found our way to the hotel, I was pleased with the overall place.... More

We chose Long Island City to be near Queens and Manhattan. This area is right in between. We have stayed in Manhattan on our past NY City trips. This hotel is considerably cheaper. It's an easy subway ride into Manhattan and to all the city attractions. The subway station is a short walk. They serve a decent hotel breakfast. Our... More

Stayed here for the second time last weekend, and found the hotel to be equally excellent as it was the last time. I have relatives in Astoria, so this hotel is convenient but not as overpriced as the hotels immediately surrounding LGA. Very clean, free water on check in, very quiet, convenient to subway, plenty of space (had a room... More

The hotel cost a very reasoanble amount which inflates my score to 5 stars. The hotel was excellent for the money, if I had paid a lot I would not have rated it quite so highly. The customer service was excellent, breakfast was nice. My partner and I stayed for 10 days. Takes approx 20-25 minutes to get to times... More

Not a hotel I would recommend anyone looking to explore New York fro multiple days. The front desk staff lack an ability to communicate properly with guests and the manage r has a tone-deaf attitude. Housekeeping does not speak proper English and cannot be relied upon to clean your room while you are gone for the day. In addition, they... More

I chose it because it is convenient to get to Manhattan, Queens Plaza Metro Station is very close and is served by several lines. Of course, the area where it is located is pretty shabby, but the rooms are clean, the staff friendly and helpful, and it does not cost a blunder as it happens towards the center. At night... More

We used this hotel while visiting New York. Initial impression was that it was located in a poor area but we never felt threatened in any way. In fact we found the staff and locals very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and clean. The bathroom was excellent. Breakfast was good but I could live without the turkey sausages... More
