Chose this hotel based on location and pricing and overall it measured up. Staff at reception always friendly and helpful, the location was great, easy walk to subway, convenience stores and eating places. The room was basic but clean and spacious with comfortable bed. Wifi was free and worked well, breakfast basic but free, air con in a bad spot... More

Terrible service at the front desk, totally ignorant and uncooperative. Wifi was way too slow and unstable, wasn't even able to use skype in the room. If you're staying in Long Island there's a few hotels around this area that might be better. Good luck

Hotels in NYC are more expensive than elsewhere, and the Verve certainly isn't cheap. But it is cheap compared to other hotels, especially taking into account its location. The subway is a five minutes walk from the hotel and it only takes 10 - 15 minutes to get to Times Square. The area is fine and not any more dangerous... More

We were on the sixth floor and had a living room and bedroom with a tv in each. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was plentiful but needed more fruit. The staff was very helpful with our tons of luggage as my daughter was moving to LIC. It is very close to 2 different subway stops and so very... More

Having come from another hotel in the chain (Miami), which was cheaper, I expected a little more for my extra $$$ spent here, esp. as the photos on the website made this hotel look really good. I'd have to agree with many other reviewers here and have mixed feelings about the Verve. I'm really not sure what makes a 'boutique'... More

So glad and satisfied with the staff and Hotel. I brought up an issue of smelling weed in the hallway the first night stay with the front desk. Within minutes the manager was going door to door trying to solve the mystery of where the smell of weed was coming from. I came back to New York for a weading... More

Breakfast was limited. They had cereal, bagels, cream cheese, hard boiled eggs, white bread, orange juice, coffee, and sausage - it's definitely nothing to rave about. I had to go to the lobby to get extra towels - in my experience someone would bring it to the room. Our friends (another couple) who also stayed at the hotel found bed... More

Clean, great value, good location, friendly staff. There are so many great things about this nice hotel that you won't go wrong. There are a couple of subway stations nearby that make it getting into anywhere Manhattan so convenient. There are a limited number of eating options nearby. We did try the Dutch Kills Restaurant nearby, that's a good option... More

This is the only hotel we stayed in Long island city and it is rated #1. Do people stay at most of the hotels to compare? Well anyway, this is hotel is nothing to write home about. Breakfast is limited, very limited. I did not expect much but Comfort Inn in OH hotel on the way to NY had more... More

The hotel is very well connected to Manhattan and easily accessible by subway also from the JFK but the area is extremely dirty, desolated and decaying, would not recommend girls to come back alone at night. The hall consists in 2 sofas. Unlike other reviewers, we weren’t given any bottle of water, which instead costs from their machine 2,5 dollars!... More
