My wife and I were looking for a quick getaway in the Catskill mountains as a last vacation before the arrival of our first baby. The cottages are quaint and have everything you need for a weekend away. They are themed by country - we stayed in Africa, which overlooks a nice little pond. You can walk the property to... More

I have just completed another excellent stay at the Guest House! My accommodations this time were in the Russia facility which provided me with an excellent sleep and the amenities were great. As an avid fly fisher it also provided easy access to the beautiful river only 30 yards away. WOW is the only word I would use to describe... More

We have found this nice place very quiet and next to the river and forest. We stayed in a beautiful cottage with a view to a charming pond next to the swimming pool. It is a good place to enjoy Catskills. We met a very welcoming owner.

After we had traveled down a peaceful and secluded drive and parked the car precisely in the designated spot, my darling and I began to cross a gently swaying but unquestionably sturdy bridge over a delightful river; as we neared its end, we wanted to cry. We wanted to cry because we realized that at some point we would eventually... More

We arrived at the Guest House on a Friday afternoon and stayed the weekend. We came from the city and enjoyed the tranquility of the grounds. 5 minutes after we unpacked we literally saw a family of deer not too far from us. We stayed in the China cabin. It was clean and unique to say the least. There is... More

A perfect getaway. The place was mystical, enchanting, beautiful and peaceful. Our little chi even had a great time walking around the beautiful surroundings. Andrea Plunkett and staff are superb hosts, every detail was taken care of to perfection.

By far the best place to stay in the Catskills. We've been staying there every years for the last 20 years. The cottages are just by the river, where one can fly fish very nicely. The surroundings, garden, woods, are splendid.

We stayed in the China cottage with our sweet Boston Terrier and had a very peaceful time. Our cottage was clean, neat and quiet. We wanted a getaway from the noise of New York City and we found it at the Guest House. There were some quirky things but it did not take away from our stay. Its very difficult... More

I first found the guest house in an online search about 5 years ago. We are heading back again tomorrow for our 4th visit. We've stayed in 3 of the 5 cottages on the property and every one is great. It's in a very small town, but easy to get to. Its very quiet and peaceful. Andrea and Shaun are... More

Cottage we stayed in was named "Brittania." It is chock-a-block full of tacky items. Cobwebs and dust covered most surfaces. The tennis court next to the cottage is overrun with weeds. The "breakfast" included 6 eggs, Thomas-brand English muffins, some cereal, a pint of orange juice (Tropicana), jams and butter that you would get at an IHOP, and mediocre fruit.... More

It always saddens me when guests are unhappy. In this case, I allowed the Britannia guests to stay 1 night only, in stead of 2, which is against our policy. Their 2 dogs were so sweet, that I did not charge them on their bill. These guests wanted 2 massages, which I arranged. They assured me they would pay the... More
