The good: The staff was lovely and attentive. The grounds are well kept, the trails are well laid out and maintained. Lots of places to lounge, read, and enjoy the peace and quiet. Comfy beds. Easy access to the river and lots of hiking trails. The not so good: Avoid room #4. It is significantly smaller and less well appointed... More

It was fly-fishing that brought us to this well-run, classic old hotel in the first place. Only then did we discover the extensive grounds, the swimming pool and recreational facilities and a private stretch of trout-filled water to boot. Food was first class, the bar large and amply supplied. Whether you want to fish, hike, read a book, swim, play... More

We just spent our 7th visit to the BVI and it has to be one of our favorite trips each year. We come for the trout fishing and the ambiance and it does not disappoint in either category. Lovely place, friendly staff, good fish, good food and old fashioned Catskills hospitality. I fished the Beaverkill as a boy and when... More

Great stream right on property. Serve meals if you desire. Served ice tea and lemonade yesterday while we were there since it was hot out. Also great ice cream bar for guests included. Wonderful wrap around porch facing stream to sit and relax. It really is just lovely.

First time fly fishing the famous Beaverkill River and the Beaverkill River Lodge was recommended to me by a GREAT friend. This Lodge was lights out awesome and the fly fishing was spectacular. Food was delicious and the local beer selection on draught was pretty darn good as well. The staff were all OUTSTANDING and that makes it one of... More

Our family greatly enjoyed our stay last August 25, 2013. The inn and grounds were beautfiul and just what we wanted--an idyllic spot, peaceful and quiet, off the beaten path. It was more than we expected. We took advantage of the heated pool and tennis courts as well. We also went fishing and sightseeing. The staff behind the front desk... More

We love staying at the Inn and have been going several times a year for almost a decade. The staff have become like family to us. Warm, welcoming, cozy place with lots to do at any time of year. The huge heated pool is especially fun. Chris the executive chef creates absolutely amazing meals using largely local suppliers. You can... More

Bring your kids (and your friends kids) and enjoy the pool, basketball court, playroom, and ice-cream bar in the building behind the Inn. There is an ice rink and cross-country trails, and the Inn offers cross-country skis and skates (as well as hockey sticks) in all sizes. It is the perfect place to indulge in winter sports! It is cozy,... More

We came here for my 50th birthday and it was a dream. The place is beautiful, the food is amazing, the staff is lovely, the activities are extraordinary, the setting is spectacular and the whole experience was magical. We came with a group of people and each one of them had an incredible time -- swimming, skiing, or just sitting... More

My husband and I travel frequently, and stumbled upon this amazing inn last weekend. We live in NYC and it is truly just a little over 2 hours. The food was delicious and way exceeded our expectations - fresh, quality ingredients, everything hand-made and beautifully presented and healthy. The staff was extraordinarily lovely and accommodating and there was so much... More
