This is an easy destination from NYC, just a little over 2 hours by car. I spent the weekend here on a mother-daughter getaway. It was the perfect spot. We enjoyed the hiking trails, indoor pool and fabulous meals. The wrap around porch with comfortable deck furniture is a great place to read the free copies of NY Times that... More

I spent a weekend here with my wife in August of 2014. We live in Connecticut and it was a three hour drive (but a very scenic drive). The closer you get, the windier the roads become, but the scenery of the Catskills will amaze you. I wouldn't want to do this drive if it were icy, however; lots of... More

It is an outstanding destination for fly fisherman. Great water on a fabled trout stream. They have a casting pond, indoor basketball court, tennis courts, indoor swimming pool and a self service ice cream bar. Also, there is a game room with pool table and TV. There is a wonderful wrap around porch great for relaxing and reading during a... More

We discovered this jewel of a getaway while attending a wedding this location. We are generally hesitant to stay in places that are older as they frequently can be outdated and run down. This wonderful place is meticulously maintained. The manager, Kathy, runs a tight ship. Everyone we worked with was friendly and helpful. The rooms were great. In fact,... More

Bece.averkill Inmn is famous for its fishing along a mile stretch of excellent fish habitat. My son and I hired a guide and spent two wonderful days fishing during a very quiet week. Old country hotel, but well kept and the staff and food were very ni

The good: The staff was lovely and attentive. The grounds are well kept, the trails are well laid out and maintained. Lots of places to lounge, read, and enjoy the peace and quiet. Comfy beds. Easy access to the river and lots of hiking trails. The not so good: Avoid room #4. It is significantly smaller and less well appointed... More

It was fly-fishing that brought us to this well-run, classic old hotel in the first place. Only then did we discover the extensive grounds, the swimming pool and recreational facilities and a private stretch of trout-filled water to boot. Food was first class, the bar large and amply supplied. Whether you want to fish, hike, read a book, swim, play... More

We just spent our 7th visit to the BVI and it has to be one of our favorite trips each year. We come for the trout fishing and the ambiance and it does not disappoint in either category. Lovely place, friendly staff, good fish, good food and old fashioned Catskills hospitality. I fished the Beaverkill as a boy and when... More

Great stream right on property. Serve meals if you desire. Served ice tea and lemonade yesterday while we were there since it was hot out. Also great ice cream bar for guests included. Wonderful wrap around porch facing stream to sit and relax. It really is just lovely.

First time fly fishing the famous Beaverkill River and the Beaverkill River Lodge was recommended to me by a GREAT friend. This Lodge was lights out awesome and the fly fishing was spectacular. Food was delicious and the local beer selection on draught was pretty darn good as well. The staff were all OUTSTANDING and that makes it one of... More
