I have stayed at the Maplewood Hotel three times, and it truly is a step back in history. This is not a five-star hotel, and it is not a Holiday Inn. If you are expecting these things, you will be sorely disappointed. What it is, however, is a lovely hotel, more than 100 years old, with fixtures and an ambiance... More

room #3 with shower and toilet was small but very functional, quiet and convenient to all activities. Watching rain from rocking chairs on porch was very nice. The rooms are not designed for entertaining, just sleeping and dressing. The rest of the hotel has great sitting and visiting spaces with over stuffed Victorian furniture. The place smelled nice and old... More

We stayed above Sunflower Cafe, but were still part of the Maplewood Hotel. It is a very quaint, old, bare bones basic room. Our room had two twin beds and we were able to squeeze in a rollaway bed. Thank goodness for our air conditioner! We enjoyed spending free time on the screened in porch too. We missed having a... More

As soon as I walked into the Maplewood it was like coming home to that great big smile from the manager Judy. I couldn't wait to get out and walk around. With every step I could feel the tensions leaving me. I knew that my little slice of heaven was working to help me. I am already looking forward to... More

When you check-in you pay the balance for your stay upfront. This is different as usually you pay the remainder of your bill when you check-out of hotels. Judy at the front desk is surly, but you are in New York. The young boy/man at the front desk is timid and just repeats the rules and regulations. We stayed on... More

My Friend and I stayed at the Maplewood hotel in Lily dale New York last year in early July of 2014, it is a rustic, historic building with full of amazing energy. If your looking for luxury, this is not the place, however, what they don't have in luxury they make up for in charm. Lily Dale is a spiritual... More

I stayed with a companion at The Maplewood in July, 2014. I had visited LIlydale many times in the past but had always stayed nearby in Erie PA and driven in for the day. This was my first overnight stay in Lilydale and I was excited. Of course, you read about how the hotel is haunted. Well, yeah, why wouldn't... More

I stayed in a first floor room, which came with air conditioning. I was pleased with the room overall. We had a private bathroom. The shower was extremely small, like a telephone booth. The shower also dripped water constantly. We told the front desk, but nothing was done. That was the only negative. The hotel has a great energy. It... More

It's old and has a great Lilydale vibe. I wouldn't stay anywhere else. The room was freshly painted, new windows, clean and cozy. On the downside the carpeting was quite old and a bit musty, and the bed was really creaky and noisy - not great if you toss and turn a lot. You can really hear other room doors... More

This was my daughter's and my second trip and I now know what the best thing about Lily Dale, COMING BACK!! We stayed in 2 rooms but this time both were on the second floor. The rooms were clean and quiet and again as anticipated Judy and the staff were fantastic. Cup of Joe's was the place to start the... More
