Breakfast was always at least an hour late1 hour late. Had to grind beans and make coffee in kitchen myself before breakfast. Hostess seems to sleep late and has no help. Room in "carriage house" was dark, cramped and hot. Bath amenities poor. Two small pieces of soap the size of a quarter. more
Breakfast was great and Jeanine was very accomodating of our large party. The rooms are comfortable. Nice back porch. Convenient location - just off of the main street in Lewiston so not noisy - but shops and restaurants in easy walking-distance. Major sites within 20 mins (easy drive). A couple of notes; sort of a tough property for small children.... more
The building and property are very nice. Jeannine Piper is the host. The website is nicely presented. At first, contacting Jeannine for the reservation and questions was easy. Bed and Breakfasts are typically run by one or two individuals. There is no front desk where someone can sit by the phone or wait all day for packages. This was my first B&B experience and because of the hospitality of Janine and Frank, it won't be my last. Pipers is everything I was looking for. My carriage house room was beautiful! I stayed at Piper's Village Inn one recent, cold, windy March night and couldn't have been cozier. Tucking into the soft cotton sheets and cloudlike mattress of the bed in "Royal Knight's Quarters" after a 12-hour, flight-diverted trip from Florida was heaven.
