This is the second time I stayed here. Once in 2006. Does not disappoint. Clean, well stocked. Came before season started, but they rented us a room even before they opened! The management was helpful and friendly. Will be back!

While making a reservation at Carl's Rip Van Winkle Motor Lodge I was asked if I wanted a motel room. I requested a cabin and was very happy I did. It was so nice to relax at a cabin in the woods. Our room was clean & cozy with a fireplace.I was a little concerned about noise as it located... More

I fulfilled a childhood dream of sleeping in a log cabin! The Big Brown Bear was the only missing dream segment, but he looked like he would come from behind one of those beautiful trees. The Karl family run Rip Van Winkle with Fine precision. I would love to fulfill my childhood dream again soon!

We usually camp out in this area. This time though we thought it would be best to stay somewhere with a comfortable bed and a shower. Very accommodating staff and when we needed to check in a bit earlier than check in time they were willing to give us a room. Room was clean and pleasant. Pool looked nice but... More

The individual log cabins are ideal for privacy and have private decks with Adirondack chairs. Easy access off of I-87. I stayed in the Windswept cabin (a single) and the room was immaculate. Spotless bathroom as well. They even had a charming fireplace that is functional in the colder months. I stayed in mid-August. The room was spacious and the... More

Large spacious rooms. Very clean!! Family owned operation for years and the pride showed!! I hint of mildew smell but I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!! A nice small but very helpful item was the nightlight they provided. Great bed and clean box springs!!!!!!

I have stayed here twice, once in 1999 and then again in 2013. Returning to this place had been something I had wanted to do for quite some time, and last summer, I finally got around to it! I strongly believe that the owners of this place take great pride in the cleanliness of their establishment and in the overall... More

Stayed here for one night while visiting in Hudson. We we're in one of the small cabins. Very clean and comfortable for two. The staff at check in were very friendly and helpful. Very quiet as well and you can't beat the price in this area. We would definitely stay here again.

We stayed in "Do Rest" cabin near the back of the property. In fact, this is the second time we have stayed there. It's 2 bedrooms, living area with kitchen, bath. Very "mountainy" with a true log cabin, Early American theme. Super clean and stocked with full size fridge, stove, microwave, coffee maker, etc. My only complaint would be that... More
