I get really tired of hearing people whining about Super 8s (eg. raven0729 here, other customers at the desk) - my room here with a double bed was $55/night, after tax. What is it appropriate to compare this to? A five-star hotel or a hostel? I realise the comparison is slightly flawed because this Super 8 is off the beaten... more

Considering this is one of the least expensive hotels in the greater Albany NY area, this is a very good value. Check-in was fast and efficient, the clerk was not particularly friendly but polite. (It's New York state!) My room was on the first floor (basically basement level with a window at ground level with the parking lot.), but I... more

Let me preface this review by saying we never actually got to stay at the hotel - so I am describing here my experience with the front desk staff. In December our area was hit by an ice storm - and with the realization that we were going to be without power for several days we decided to book a... more

Dirty, dated, rank musty smell, noisy, poor lighting, shady people hanging around outside, did not feel safe, NOT worth the room rate. $39 a night would be too much to pay for these accomodations. Room so skeevy, I slept in my clothes on top of the bed. YUCK YUCK YUCK YUCK....AVOID.... Spend your dollars elsewhere. more

I walked in after getting off a late flight into Albany and got a good rate for a room here with one of those coupon books. The woman on the front desk was polite and courteous even at midnight and I got a clean and decent room that suited my purposes for an overnight stay. more

It's a fairly standard motel. No significant complaints. I found it clean and relatively comfortable. I found the lighting a bit inconvenient. All of the lights in the room were controlled by the switch at the door. However, the price was significantly lower than other hotels in the area, and for an overnight stay it was perfectly fine. more

I am a trip rewards member and never stayed at any hotel before this that needed a follow up with the manager. I had alot of sinus problems all night. I was coughing and had congestion all through the night. The room didn't smell of smoke. I checked the fridge nothing. Took some Benedryl and still couldn't sleep. In the... more

I stayed at the Super 8 in Latham while presenting workshops followed by attending a nearby conference. I stayed for seven nights. I arrived a couple of days early to visit with my son who lives in the area. I selected this hotel over the nearby Microtel because I could get a room with a microwave and fridge. I should... more

Nice place that is close to the interstate which makes it convenient . It was very clean and safe. The beds were very low to the ground but were very soft and good for weary travelers wanting to rest. The only minor thing I didn't like about the place was that there was no elevator and our room was on... more

The room was clean but very small and no fridge or pool. Given the relative low price its a good place if you are only staying a short time and need a clean bed and shower. The included breakfast wasn't anything to write home about. Its an easy drive to dowtown Albany. Overall good value and would stay again. more
