Had seen some pretty good reviews of this bed and breakfast so wanted to try it out for ourselves. We were very pleased with the warm hospitality of the innkeeper (and her wonderful Jack Russell terrier). Terrific breakfasts and terrific conversation. Room was extremely nice. We would definitely come back again. more

Inside and out, the Federal House was absolutely gorgeous. The rooms, the surrounding trees, and the nearby waterfall were all beautiful. Also, the amazing service, kindness, and generousity of the owners completely blew me away. A must visit if you are in or nearby the area, more

Being from New York City, my wife and I were looking for a quiet and romantic weekend getaway, and the Federal House was the perfect fit. Situated on the southeastern end of Cayuga Lake, this B&B offers all the natural beauty and history of the Ithaca area. There is even a beautiful gorge and waterfall adjacent to the house! There... more

I was looking for a peaceful, gracious retreat for my 23rd wedding anniversary; it had to be remote enough to feel like a real change of scenery, but close enough (we live in Ithaca) to accomodate busy schedules and other commitments. The Federal House was spot-on perfect. Stephanie and James were wonderful hosts, and super-accomodating for special dietary needs for... more

The Federal House is a charming, historic home: delightful to stay in. The rooms are plush, and period-decorated with every amenity at hand. Stephanie and James are very friendly, passionate, and knowledgeable about the house and the area. It is obvious that they truly love where they are and what they do. Food was spectacular! as was conversation, naturally. Location... more

A few of my friends and I spent a weekend down in Ithaca and we were absolutely blown away by this B & B. Our hosts were extremely gracious and intensely passionate about the history of their region. The house is an experience in itself, with a mantle carved by Brigham Young and a collection of items from the end... more

This historical bed and breakfast impressed with beautiful rooms, great attention to detail and a peaceful setting (complete with waterfall). Our room was at the top of its own private grand staircase (the Lincoln Suite). We loved the period furnishings. Stephanie was charming, gracious and kind. The breakfast was fresh and delicious. It was a perfect get away. more

Our stay at the Federal House first began with our interest in visiting the Finger Lakes Region. From that moment onward, we began an adventure that we will never forget . The Inn Keepers were accommodating in every way and had wonderful advice concerning the winery locations, restaurants , waterfalls , and more. My parents, sister, and I enjoyed the... more
