I have been to Shekhawati 4 times now, and after experimenting with a few hotels in Mandawa I now only stay at Ramgarh Fresco each time. I stayed here for a whole month in March, as I am researching the wall paintings. The haveli is one of the most well preserved in the area, and very tastefully furnished. The food... More

My wife and I really enjoyed staying in Ramgarh. Arguably once the wealthiest and now by far the tidiest town in the region, Ramgarh's streetscapes are distinguished by glorious havelis, frescoes and temples. Raghvendra and his partner are a great hosts - nothing is too much trouble, and our walking tours were delightful and informative. The simple but characterful rooms... More

My wife and I stayed here for two nights over New Year's in a suite. We didn't know what to expect so when we were informed on arrival that we were the only guests we were somewhat apprehensive. The manager and his wife are friendly and hospitable and did everything to make us comfortable. We enjoyed the tour of the... More

Our tour operator chose this hotel away from the larger city and towns. The owner of the hotel has kept the havelis with its beautiful fresco artwork in its natural condition but has renovated the rooms. Our room was clean and spacious. We enjoyed the two days we stayed there, the owner very helpful, offering to guide us around the... More

We wanted to spend one day in the countryside in India, far from big cities. This is a nice option. This is a hotel in a little palace in a small city. Really amazing room and hotel. Very good food. We recomend the walk tour to see the city. The camel ride they also offer, is not worthing. Staff really... More

The first thing that you would notice about this place is the wonderfully preserved paintings. The haveli is full of character and from the moment you step in you'll love everything about it. Raghvender and his wife are very helpful and would be very happy to show you around and tell you all about the history of the place. The... More

This is a very interesting building and it is just about the last of the havelis which is properly habitable. The manager and his wife are doing what they can to make a go of things and deserve credit for the quality of the food, the pleasant rooms and attentive service. The tour around this crumbling town with the manager... More

Ramgarh in itself was a beautiful exploration for us. Away from the madness of cities, we had a fantastic time at the Haveli. Beautifully maintained, stunning frescoes, and the fact that these are some odd 100 years old original ones, makes the place all the more special. The haveli tastefully maintains a Marwari feel to it and the rooms were... More

First of all, my wife and I didn't actually stay here for the night. We were booked at a haveli in Mandawa but in retrospect this would have been a far better base to explore the region. We were driving around and wanted to have tea here, ended up chatting with the owner, getting a guided tour of the property... More

Ramgarh Shekhawati located in the Sikar,Shekhawati district of Rajasthan, is about 300 kms from New Delhi and it takes about 6 to 6 ½ hours to drive there. Other nearby towns are Churu (13 Kms) and Jhunjhunu (50 kms). Although the town is presently not in the best of the shape it has a very interesting history. In 1791, the... More
